Hey Guys :)

I Have A Question For Garter Snake Owners Since Im Jus New To This .

Ive Recently Got My Mates Male Adult Mountain Garter , Because He Didnt Have Much Time For It Anymore And Im Always Taking Interest To It When Im At His House , So Im Wondering If I Can Put A Baby Garter In The Same Tank As The Adult Male ?

If So Would It Have To Be A Female ? Incase They Fight Or So?

Thx

Hi Robert. The answer to that would have to be a definite 'no'! If there is too much disparity in the size of the cage-mates, the smaller could possibly end up as lunch.

I wanted to agree with James and say that it's probably dangerous for the little one if you put them together.

Snakes are happy to be singles, but garters have normally no stress with other specimen beside feeding.

see i have seperate tanks for them , but i was going to let the baby grow to a decent size before tryin to get them together in the same tank , was just something i would quite like to do

They'll be fine together once they're of a similar size, Robert.

Robert, very nice set up! And of course, very nice snake. :-) I like the size of your water tub, too.
