Just had to upload one that I shot (on November 17. 2005). :D My snake had been sleeping on a branch for several hours and it started waking up just as the timer turned off the lights.

Yup, I am very careful about feeding those dang fishes. Unfortunately this time of year it's a little hard to catch other things outside. I just woke up this morning to over a foot of snow on my front porch. I know most of you will think I'm crazy for being surprized by snow but where I'm at one to two inches in JANUARY is a biggie. This snow hit very very early. I do have some frozen trout in the fridge but I'm still trying to find a place with pinkies or some other type of feed. :( I wish there were more places in washington with feeder variety) At the moment I have a choice between tiny guppies and gold fish. I was feeding my own fish Swordtails, Guppies dianos, and anything that was snake size in my aquarium. Now my snake has taken over my fish aqarium and i have no fish set up any more. hopefully santa will bring me another aquarium for x-mas.
I thank you though for the concern. I would wrather people warn me than shake their head and look the other way.
Brittany
ps. Thanks for the comment.

Might as well bump this thread instead of making a new one for this little video.

Me feeding my garters yesterday. f/t mice are on the menu; 2-week-old for the male and a 3-week-old for the female.
A little more activity on this front and we could have a reason to make this a sticky. ;)

wow, that's a really big mouse for such a small snake.
Stefan-A
02-17-2007, 09:44 AM
I agree, but the fish I usually give her are bigger and heavier. That was a 3-week-old mouse, it was one of the bigger ones in the bag. It didn't have a problem swallowing it, even if it swallowed it butt first. The mouse itself wasn't really thicker than the snake.
That was the female by the way, she would eat another two mice that size if she had the chance, but this one is enough for at least a week and a half. Normally, she would also be eating 2-week-old mice.

Nice movie, the mouse looks a bit to big for the snake. But if she has no problems with it, than it's a 5 star meal:D

I've got some new video's of our garters while they're eating. The quality of the video's is not very good, but the quality of the snakes is:D
At the moment all our garters eat a kilo fish each week, beside the 250 gr. worms and also a lot of mice

It's funny how today is the first day that Jason is unavailable, and there has already been two posts that only he can address. He'll be back in 3-4 days. James, be sure to send him a PM with your question, so he doesn't overlook it among the hundreds of other posts that he'll have to review when he's catching up.

Stefan,
I like your video very much ;). Playing "Ave Maria" in the background is a very nice touch! PM me with the singer's name, okay?

Thanks. It's sort of a protest to people having aggressive music playing in the background of snake feeding videos. It's not that "cool" an event and it's just something that annoys me.
I can tell you right now that I have no idea who the singer is. But maybe somebody else does.
edit: Perri Alleyne, perhaps. I think that version is from the 28 Days Later soundtrack.
