Very nice pics! too bad you can only enter one in the contest!!
What is the common name for atratus atratus? I'm not familiar with them, but it's a very pretty snake! (even if it's a miserable bugger as you say!!;))

T. a. atratus is the Santa Cruz Garter Snake, a sub-species of the Western Aquatic Garter. Like it. Want it!:D

I think they are readily available in Europe.... though maybe not in the UK. I've never seen one 'in the flesh'.

Scott Felzer has had them, but I seem to recall that he lost the female (I could be wrong)
Scott Felzer's Garter Snakes, specializing in aberrant garters (http://albinogartersnake.com/pricing.htm)

I've seen Scott on the Kingsnake.com garter forum.... but I don't spend much time at all there. (This forum is too fun!!!!!) Have we ever invited him here??

reptileparadise

Scott is very busy with his snakes, posting very few on kingsnake.com too.
Is Alan Francis a member, James?
For Martin Hallmen we have to much small talk, I think.:D

Alan isn't a member, although he says he 'has a look' at us sometimes!

Udo, do you know Peter Geissler? I asked him to join us, but he doesn't much like forums!
