I'm really not qualified to make guesses, but when I've seen babies with that kind of coloration, they have usually been normals.

It's a real shame they don't keep the colours they have as babies. I guess it's the same with all species..

I believe the new Garter is T. sirtalis sirtalis- Eastern Garter. Don't konw enouth about the Corns, but the more orange one looks like the normals I find in the wild.

The first corn looks to be a "bloodred" and the second to be a normal, but I've seen a lot of bloodreds that didn't show any more red than the second does. Don't hold me to it though, a lot of colors change very drastically as they mature.

these orange ones are last season snakes whatever that means,,thats what the guy said so im guessing last year,,,one looks more red and the other has way more orange,,,the little ones came from another breeder,,,and the new garter came from a different place then my first two garters did,,

i love the corns theyre colors are so variable, u might want to watch out for the garter though if u keep them all in the same tank and you dont know what sexes they are they might cross-breed

do u think the corns will be ok in the same tank with the garters? right now there all out in seperate feeding bowls,,,most have eaten but some are taking awhile,,two little ones not eating yet,,,but they did eat on the 20th from what the guy said,,,the garters eat everything,,,but i dont think they will harm another snake,,,i wonder about the corns

I definitely wouldn't recommend it. I'd be more concerned about what the corns might do.

cage sharing for those different snakes seems not good to me.
Corns are much less active than garters, furthermore garters are active in daytime while corns are active during dawn and night.
That might cause stress.

i put the corns in there and they went right under the ground into the dirt and ive not seen either of them sense and i stayed up till 12 last night,,,just got done playing with my python,,just woke up and still have not seen the corns,,,the corns are alot smaller then the garters to i dont see the corns eating or killing the garters,,,there is 3 garters and two corns in there

The Corns are VERY likely to eat your garters !! I have had Corn babies eat each other. PLEASE seperate them ...

I don't know anything about corn snakes, but all this sounds ominous indeed! Please separate them, because as beautiful as your new corns are, your garters are equally beautiful, and I don't want to read about any terrible accidents!:eek:

they are no longer together,,spent one night together and i removed them and put all the corns together,,,do i need to seperate the baby corns from the big corns? there from different breeders,, also one of my garters must have thrown up what he ate,,,i found a piece of a mouse and a goldfish still intake stuck together,,looks like they were puked up,,,any ideas?

Hello ... I believe a good deal depends upon their natural, 'wild' diet. For instance the Miami phase Corns are huge lizard eaters. If their natural (wild) diet consists of reptiles then that phase (Miami for sake of this example) would be more inclined to eat a snake. A reptile is a reptile if you know what I mean. Corns and Garters are very different animals. Personally I would not house Corns of different sizes together. The bigger the size difference the greater the urgency to seperate them.

Best of Luck,
