It's not a yellow rat snake (Elaphe obsoleta quadrivittata) is it?

i feel ur pain when i was in england last summer visiting my freind my mom calls me up and shes says reed!!! theres like a 6 foot gopher snake outside man i wish i was there to get it

That would have made a cool catch either way!:(

I would say yellow Rat(Elaphe obsolete quadrivittata)99% sure.....:)

the one thing that tells me that is the yellow background with the 4 black stripes...........typical of a yellow rat, and they are found in Florida.....:)

I totally agree ... Yellow Rat snake. Don't have them around my area, but have done herping near the coast and was fortunate enough to see them in the wild.

hey,
even much later,100% Yellow Rat Snake,Ive got two of these beauty's.pic in my photo gallery album"other reptiles",they do very well when found very young or captive raised,you pic shows some age,so it would probably of been a hand full,their not as calm as Red Rats,even with mine,I need to be careful,there are times when they appear to be ready to strike out at me,and they have a heathly appetite.my three footer could easily eat 4/5 large mice a week.
