I noticed in Sid's sig and a few others that they have numbers like this "7.5 T. s sirtalis- Eastern Garter". What does that number mean?
Just curious ;o)

those corrispond to the sex. so 2.3 is two males and three females.
As in real life, the man goes first!;)
or "the wife is always right" if you prefer!:)

Abbreviations run rampant in the reptile lingo. Most assume every one knows but if ya never ask you may not find out. Anytime I see a short form I dont know, its askin time.;) I never know, it might be a joke at my expense!!:D

Years ago, when I first saw these numbers in use, I was very confused for quite a while by the third number (1.1.1)......Never had the nerve to ask anyone! Shows how stupid I am! (or was?)
