the male colorless I sent Scott is doing real well!! I had a female colorless but she died on me....hopefully next year I can get back to Kansas and gather me a few more red siders....and hopefully some colorless!! the male I sent Scott was from a w/c female I had, the female colorless was wild caught.

Those are all great specimens, Don. I would love to find a female like the Orange Eastern you have.

I think the silver one is gorgeous! Do you just find these guys by sheer luck or is there someplace to buy or what? I only have mine because the kids brought it home, and she was pregnant to boot! We just lost the mum to a tumour or blockage or something, not sure but it happened really quickly- within a week. I would LOVE one of those neat-coloured critters!!!!

I got 2 orange, 2 silver, and 2 yellow easterns from a guy in Canada. I traded one silver with Scott. It was supposed to be a pair of each, however the ornages are girls as are the silvers, and the yellows are males. the boys are breeding size this year, however one orange and one silver won't be until next year. my second orange is off feed right now and will pobably be put into a brief brumation period. she isn't feeding as well and will probably be 2 years before she hits breeding size. keep watching my site and I will eventually have babies for sale. :D

I'm glad to hear the male is doing well. I owned him for a while and then sold him back to Scott when when my 2 female red sideds died. He was a nasty guy when he was here!
