I've seen this thread before and it is usually pretty fun.
Since I play on the forum when I am at work and just read a conversation about Linux OS (I agree Windows sucks, but I got to use it) I thought to myself, "what a perfect time."
I am a web content coordinator for IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers)

I kind of envy you guys who've done the same thing for a good chunk of years
I've done everything from waitressing to maintenance, wood-working, translation, receptionist, shiatsu therapist, stable hand, horse trainer, groom, art therapist, photo lab technician, copy camera operator, retouch tech, office help, and in the very distant past, some unmentionable work
many skills, but making money isn't really one of them
good thing, Jeff's got a decent job

I guess my title is administrative assistant (secretary!!) for an equine veterinary clinic. I love my job!!!!!!!! The vets are mobile, so they are rarely in the office bugging us. :-) Altho they are AWESOME bosses. The clinic is located on a large horse farm, so poor me, my view all around is horses frolicking in the fields. I bring dogs to work with me everyday. Most of the clients are totally cool. So I feel very lucky to work here!!!!!! :-)

I'm an animal health tech (Albertan for vet tech); which is now just a hobby. I"ve resorted to the construction trades to pay the bills. When asked what am I though, I never reply a tradesman. Anything I do for money though is to work towards a self supporting career with reptiles.

Good luck with that, Ian. I think many of us would aspire to that if we thought we could make it. I did it for a few years, but couldn't sustain it, in the end I had to return my attentions to real life or starve to death!:D
Don't be discouraged or put off. If that's what you want, you go for it....best of luck to you.:)

We have such a neat, diverse group of people here. This is a fun thread. :-)
Im a front store clerk at a small pharmacy. however unlike the other clerks, I am sort of the 3rd runner up in charge, so if neither the dispensery manger(who is also the main pharmasist) nor the front store manager is on duty, then I am the one in charge.

hey
are you at all chummy with the pharmacists?
we have this pharmacy here that makes flavoured medicines
they also make a few for animal patients
our Emily used to go crazy over her triple fish flavoured thyroid meds
I had this idea of making some sort of scenting agent - something like triple amphibian
so I called them to see whether the pharmacist would be nice enough to give me some pointers, but he said it was a trade secret and got kind of huffy with me
he clearly thought I was weird
I'm fairly certain that the flavour producing animal needs to be put through the blender
I wonder what else goes into it though

Sheesh
why didn't I try hitting you up for some real stuff, Shayna
no - it had to be triple-amphib
anji1971
10-10-2007, 03:12 PM
Sounds like Rhea might have a new business venture to get going!
am I chummy with the pharmasist? yes :p cant tell you nothing about flavors though, we dont fill very many animal 'sripts lol
drache
10-10-2007, 05:49 PM
well
for that pharmacy it's also sort of a sideline
they offer mostly fruit flavours for kids
apparently there's some company that makes those
but the triple fish is something the pharmacist came up with
so I thought it's perhaps something another pharmacist could come up with
I think I'l just have to stick to good old childlike experimentation
I'll start with something like spray-on fish flavour and once I've tackled that one I'll go for the amphibs
we dont even have much for child flavors at our pharmacy, its surrounded by seniors complexes, so we deal almost entirly in seniors.

I'm 15 and still don't have a steady job. my parents just give me my money. I pretty much just do hard labor for my dad and his work and and I get paid handsomely. I also mow lawns and shovel driveways. I just like to play sports and never have time for a job with specified hours, not even weekends.
