I'm not convinced it's a toad........isn't it just a Wood Frog (Rana sylvatica)? Can you post a side view or a belly shot?
laterit has a white belly with spots by the mouth

Actually I'd put my money on Green Frog (Rana clamitans), he's got the right colour and dorsolateral ridges which Bullfrogs don't have. They're also quite common here in PA.

I'd say that's a pretty small bullfrog for fall, at least from the ones around here. I'd also say it's a green frog, though it's coloration is a bit darker than most.

well I'm going to agree with green frog for the following reasons:
the overall size, even if it we're a bullfrog looks like its a little undersized.
the legs don't look muscular enough for a bullfrog, and the hind feet do
not look webed enough either, a bullfrogs feet a totally webed......and
last but not least the eyes don't sit high enough on the head, in other words they don't bulge enough....................:)

Green Frog... Rana clamitans
To differentiate the green frog from the bullfrog, look for ridges along the back that are parallel. I see them in your pic.
Here is a bullfrog for comparison:

Make sure you enjoy the place on one of the above pages, where you can click and hear the song of the two frogs... very different! The Green Frog sounds like a banjo string being plucked!
