get my red-sided male to eat strips of salmon when it comes to fish he gobbles it downn (his names phatty) but he wont eat then strips of salmon. he just watches the other one eat it then goes to his water bowl to look for fish.. what should i do?
I would try dangling it in front of him to simulate movment of live prey.

Wouldn't the whole fish be better for it than fish strips?

just leave the strips in there...may take a while for them to eat it or a few feedings before they take it.

Yep that's true, I was concerned about the babies, so I had to force feed them twice, but today they started to pieces of trout, so be patient.
They will eat. :D
Also...check their temperature, I found that it may be the reason for not eating, well just my experience
