Probably in that area, but they can be bigger or smaller depending on their diet.

females are more like 24-36 inches...i had a female that was 34 inches, big, mean, and nasty!!

yea, she tagged me once....not too fun, but used to it, been bit many times. I have one of her babies here...more orange than red. I sent her to Scott Felzer year before last. she was older and passed away. :(

I see. I have a male red-sided just under 26" and a female around 35". :) Wouldn't dream of calling that female big, but she's getting nastier all the time..

I have three and they seem to be getting mellower so far
will there be a turning point?

it all depends on the snake....my nasty one was wild caught in Kansas...my large female here is mellow, she was captive born.

most of my red-sideds are very calm and snoopy.
my favorites to take them to the Kindergarden.
The biggest male I´ve kept was about 35" and I think females can get about 45" the biggest in my collecion was 43"
