I'm working on it
I'd just love to have a mini thamnophis meeting
I know my vet and the people from my rescue are going
I don't think they have space to take me though
I'd have to rent a car . . .
Roy - are you gonna be there?

I might make it up there.I need pinkies.I can remember a few times walking out of there with adult female eastern blacknecks for $25.Sometimes you find great stuff.Other times there is nothing as far as thamnophis goes.

Roy - are you gonna be there?

Yep I'll be there, I rarely miss any reptile show that I can drive too!:D Usually this is a pretty good show for garters as well, so hoping to pick something up there. Last month got my Pugets (T.s.pickeringi), so hoping for something new this time. Also hoping to "unload" my thayeri too.

We'll have to meet pretty early for the line gets huge very quickly!

enigma200316
09-03-2007, 06:38 PM
if you we're to buy something do they provide contaners or do you have to??

vwsrcool
09-04-2007, 01:24 AM
we will be there, the vendors usually supply containers but i take a few large ones with to transfer them into when i get out side so the animals arent as cramped, some people cram large animals in small containers, maybe we will see you there!

drache
09-04-2007, 06:24 AM
question to those of you who've gone there before:
is there a good place to meet?
and perhaps a place to have lunch in the neighborhood?
there is really nothing I need to get
I'd come primarily for a thamnophis meeting and to look
but if I look for too long, I may end up seeing something and that might be a problem

enigma200316
09-04-2007, 06:31 AM
hahahaha!!!!! thats to funny........:)

I agree is there a place we all could meet thats easily found other than
in a line or anything like that??

GarterGuy
09-04-2007, 08:34 AM
You know, I never really paid much attention to what was on the way. Just usually concerned with getting there..LOL. There might be some places in Leesport on Rt.61, but really can't think of any right off the top of my head (only other time I've been up there was to buy my car.) Actually I'll be arriving sorta late to this one. I'm meeting with some friends from my local Herp club and we're probably not going to get there 'til around noonish. If you do decide to meet and such, you'll have to let me know the when and wheres, but I wouldn't wait for me since I'll be getting there kind of later. Hopefully if I miss the meeting, I'll be able to see you all at the show.

I have no idea when I'd get there, but I think our meeting should be sort of mid-day
is this place in a town where one might find an eating establishment in the neighborhood?

vwsrcool
09-05-2007, 01:55 AM
it gets crazy busy there! if you guys want a place to meet thats easy to find the cabelas store is right up rt 61 from the reptile show, is anyone bringing any thamnophis to sell or trade?

drache
09-05-2007, 06:16 AM
if I go
and today I'm not feeling quite up for it
I can bring some concinnus babies
and I'd love to go to a Cabellas store
but I'll also need to eat and would love some company for that
btw - when is the next Hamburg expo?
I haven't come up with a ride yet . . .

Actually there's another one next month....Oct.20...and another on Dec.1.......and usually there's one in Feb. too...but I avoid that one, it's usually CRAZY!!!!! I like to call it the "Cabin fever" show, because it's soo crowded, probably from people cooped up indoors during the winter for too long! LOL

at this point
if things fall into place, I'll go
I'm just so damn exhausted
we're still living amongst stacks of boxes and reptile cages
some animals are still in temporary enclosures, waiting to move into some of those cages, once they're set up
going to an expo is not really on my priority list
it was just so cool meeting Terry, it sort of triggered some kind of repetition compulsion
and James is meeting forum members all over his corner of the globe . . .
you guys are gonna go again, right?
'cause I really want to meet you all
there's a possibility that I've talked a neighbor with a son Mikhaila's age (and a car) into going
if it's that easy I'll go

hi drache,

First time poster on thamnophis. I actually emailed you the other day regarding your cb oregons. I live in Staten Island.

I am definitely going to the show on Saturday- I have a table- selling some beardies and leo geckos with a friend. If you go, I will take some hatchlings off you- for me to keep- not retail at the show.

Currently, I am keeping albino and albino x snow easterns, and S.I.N.Y. local garters (Near the Verrazano, they can grow between 3-4 feet). I am also keeping various dwarf monitors- tristis and ackies, cbb gulf coast box turtles, cb woodhousei toads to name a couple.

As far as experience with garters, I was breeding albino checkered for a couple years, and sold them off in 2001- silly move. So, I am just getting back into them again for good- forgot how much fun adult garters can be.

I also run a monitor lizard website called Cybersalvator.com if anyone wants to drop by and say hi.

Best regards and looking forward to posting more.

John A.

However I will try to get it fixed and shoot for the next one or in the near future anyway......:)

good thing I didn't go
it would have been painful to say no to the checkered (the regular)

Yeh, did get anything there myself either. Was kind of dissapointed, usually the fall shows have a lot more garters. Just ended up buying mice. Didn't see anyone there either, but it sounds like Ben was the only other one there.

Ben: Kind of surprised you didn't get any of the Pugets. Didn't really look at them real well, so don't know how nice they were. That was the same guy I bought my Pugets from last show.

They were just little buggars, maybe 5 or 6in at most. Yeh, they did have some colour to them, pretty much like the ones I've got right now, although mine have shed since I got them.
