b blind because when i hold him and he slitheres then when he touches my other hand he sorta jerks also sometimes he goes up along the side of the tank as if he doesnt know its thre :(

do you think hes blind?

its hard to say and to be honest i have thought my male checkered was too also the fact that albinos are more prone to getting eye problems. but from what i am aware snakes have fantastic sence of smell but their eyesight isn't that brilliant. please correct me if i am wrong because i always thought that snakes had brill eyesight until i heard this. hope you find your answers hun xxx

its eyes look fine though there not cloudy or anything even if hes blind can he still mate?

I doubt he's blind, sometimes they just act like that. It can still mate too.

Reed, the behavior you described isn't abnormal. Many of my Garters react the same very often. I wouldn't worry.

if there isn't any damage showing its probably not, but only a vet could tell for sure......and they do act a little weird sometimes....:rolleyes:

Have to agree with every one....your snake sounds fine. They can be quite the duh heads sometimes and you've got to understand that he's trying to figure out stuff that's rather alien to him so he may react a bit differently.
