View Full Version : Today's unusual rescue
Thought all of you would get a laugh out of this. My duaghter-in-law call me at work. "I need help! There is a snake on my wall" This I had to see. Left work and arrived at their home 30 minutes later to find this:

Is that a racer, ribbon or whipsnake?
:D

Your first instint is the correct one Stefan. It's a JV Bklack Racer. Should have mentioned it, just having too much fun with this to think about it I guess.
For anyone wondering....this was't staged. The snake got between the wall and a picture my grand-daughter had taped up. It pushed against the picture causing the tape to pop loose and then crawled right onto it and could not get free. Wasn't very happy with the outcome.

Yes, no problem. Pulled the tape off the paper, then soaked the Racer and tape with cooking oil. After a couple of minutes the tape pulled off rather easily.:)
That trick works with "glue boards as well.

Damn, shouldn't have added those other two alternatives. :D I don't know if anybody noticed, but initially I just asked if it was a racer.

I saw that! I wondered why you added the others when you were obviously correct!

Lulu, It was perfectly fine after removing the tape. Relocated to a remote, wooded area where I commonly fine Racers.

To be quite honest, I had a couple of minutes of a good laugh before I was able to help the poor guy out. A seriously comical sight.

it's a good thing we got the funny end of it
and the little snake a happy ending
I bet he was in quite a panic, being stuck like that

"in quite a panic" is the perfect phrase for the state it was in. Little demon bit every thing he could get it's little mouth on, but as small as it was that only made it more comical.

It is funny when little snakes act like big snakes, but then they get big and start drawing blood and it's not funny anymore!
