Well after two months they've finally hatched! Here's some pics of my thayeri eggs hatching and the first four that did hatch. Three more hatched after I took the pics, so that only leaves one more egg to hatch. The last egg is over a third larger then the other eggs....thinking super thayeri!!! LOL:D

Only got pics of them just starting to hatch, was worried about freaking them out with too many pics (nervous first time daddy!!!)

And here's the first four.....I'll try and get pics of all 7 (or 8) when they've all shed the first time..they're kind of dull right now.

They're actually a subspecies of Mexican kingsnake....Lampropeltis mexicana thayeri...also called Nuevo Leon Kingsnakes or, for obvious reasons, Variable Kingsnakes. After Thamnophis, Lampropeltis is one of my favorite genuses of snakes.

LOL!!!! Good one Stefan! LOL!:D
Yeah, for some reason the bright colors and the pattern of most Lampropeltis species are just too much for me. :D

Yeh, they're all from one clutch......it's why they're also called Variable kingsnakes....the colours and patterns can vary a ton, even with in the same clutch. Here are pics of the parents.

Sarge, the male

they're all nice
I like the ones with darker colours, like the two left ones in the top row and the second from left on the bottom
how do their colours tend to change, as they grow?
or is that just as variable as their colours at birth?

GarterGuy

It is almost as variable as what they'll be at birth Rhea. My adult male started out like the one on the top left and is pretty much the same now. His white bands got a bit more "peachy" looking, but that's about it. My female actually started out looking a lot like the one on the bottom right, so she changed a ton to adult hood. Guess they're just variable all around! LOL Yeh, my favorite is the second from the right on the bottom. I love how the saddles are actually made up of three colours. The one on the bottom left would be my second fav. though.:D This was actually one of the last to hatch.
