After I get my first garters and get used to caring for them, I would like to start some breeding projects to help with the availability of the breed outside of the US and try to get some interesting morphs. This is all years away, but there's no harm in learning more about it early on. I was just wondering if there are any good resources I should know about, any controversial topics, anything really, because I have no idea where to start.

Welcome. I’ve learned a lot on this forum. I’ve posted some newer questions, but the archives are also definitely worth a read. I think I went back 95 pages in “general discussion”!

That said, it can be quiet here these days. Check out Thamnophis groups in Facebook.

Good luck!

This used to be the place for all the garter info. Unfortunately the times are changing

I think that it's still a good place, there are people that really know what they're talking about and it isn't completely dead. I don't know how it used to be, but I'm glad it still exists.

Maybe we'll start a forum revival with so many going off of FB these days... ;)
