A little back story on my baby Noraxia; I got her through a friend that could no longer keep her. Im not sure of her exact breed, as she was caught in the wild. She was previously being fed crickets with no other supplement or variation in food. As soon as I got her home I got her eating pinkies (about 2 to 3 a week) for nearly a month. Well, I assumed she was getting fat due to a better diet but lo and behold, I walked into the room one night to a tank full of babies! 14 to be exact. Well 4 of them didnt make it through birthing, but the other 10 are doing wonderfully. Nora, however, is still rather plump and seems as though she still has more babies to birth. She is extremely lethargic and refuses to move much let alone eat. Its been almost 2 days since she birthed, and Im really not sure how long a labor period for a garter can be. Can someone please help me out and hopefully put my mind at ease on this situation?

Be sure the mom and all the neonates have access to plenty of water. Dehydration is a killer to neonates.

Also, don't handle or disturb her at all. It can be up to several hours or more depending on litter size. Two days and still retaining babies is suspicious and may mean she has some deceased that just haven't passed. Best thing is to give her her space and dont stress her at all.
