Hi everyone. The names Mark and I have kept multiple species of snakes as long as I can remember. I recently acquired a 2 year old pair of California red sided garters. I'm hoping to get a better grasp on breeding and to learn anything I can.

I feel so late to the party. Lol. (Didn't get a notification that there were replies here). Well as I previously mentioned the 2 year old pair I acquired are actually two females so I went ahead and picked up a male and plan on pairing sometime next week after his QT is over. When I picked up the girls, I was given a male albino checkered for free but the longer I have him, he seems too big to be a "he". What's the average size for a male checkered? Thanks guys and gals and I'm glad to be here!

Let me first start out by saying that this is my first attempt at breeding garters. I have a 2 year old male and 2-2year old females. All of them are virgins and when I introduced the male to the females, I didn't witness any sort of breeding behavior or even courting for that matter. Is it maybe because there's 2 females in there? Any tips or suggestions will be appreciated. And to clear things up, I'm 100% sure of the genders. :)

If there's a receptive female the males will be on it, other snakes won't make any difference.
