I'm excited to find this forum!!
I've never kept any kind of snake before and I'm getting my first garter snake in november off of a friend who breeds them.
I'm looking forward to hounding you all for information!!
I keep different species of stick insect at the moment.

as i said before beca we are always ready to help as you can see lol. cant wait till you get is and post pics up. i promise you now that this site will become some what of an addiction lol. how long have you been keeping stick insects?

Oh and I've had stick insects for about 4 months now: Et's , P.Siccifolium, peruvian fern eggs and some p.acanotha eggs too. love em
I also have 2 GALS- Igby (fulica) and Angus (Iredalei)

not sure around that area you will be looking quite expencive in the middle of town. but if you look at the Banford arms in heaviley its a travel inn and it is a 192 bus journey from town ctr (about 30 mins) it will cost about £55 a night

The area around the museum is "student area", you should find a cheap B&B pretty easily. Try an on-line search.

but the area is also slap bang in the middle of town so i would have thought it would have been more expencive

No, Lulu. The museum is two minutes walk from Longsight, Gorton, Levenshulme. Five hundred yards from The Apollo Theatre. Trust me...it's cheapside!

Howdy and welcome to the forum (yeh, I know I'm a late comer...LOL). That's really cool that you've got those insect cultures. Used to have three different cockroach cultures (Hissers, Orange spotted and Discoids) and some other insect cultures before I had to get rid of them because I became very badly allergic to their droppings.:(
