The wild caught black and white snake (based on input from friends I decided to call Dalmation) proved to be a female today. The male that is breeding her was caught on the same farm this summer. I would be a small miracle if he proves to be het, but not impossible. I am just hoping she will have some healthy babies in a few months.

Proved to be female? Reminds me of the time a friend of mine gave me a "male" eastern garter that dropped 25 babies. How does that happen?? Lol

Hey Joe, it happened to me! One of my granite pastel checkereds I sexed as a female as a baby was recently found to be male! I could've been unlucky and sold him as a female but thankfully I had no offers for him once I did put him up for sale. Garrick Demeyer a few years ago had a ball python whose sex he really wasn't sure of even after popping the animal and following up with a probe. The sex was reported as male finally but he said he was not sure. Surprisingly the animal was for sale but the sex couldn't be guaranteed. It does happen occasionally. Lol.
