Hey and welcome to garter snake country. if you cut the pieces small enough once the baby has had enough they wont be interested in eating more. However babies should be offered food every three days or once you see them pacing the enclosure. Good luck.

Once neonates start eating you can feed everyday to every other day. These young snakes are on the fast track to grow. Just my opinion.

Its good to offer food frequently 1, 2, or 3 days is fine. Especially if the baby will accept it. The key is to offer it frequently and try to incorporate fish (tilapia, salmon, silversides) with pinky parts asap. You want them to have a varied, nutritious diet. Earthworms alone wont be sufficient. :)

Agreed Albert, a varied diet is best but don't sell earthworms and night crawlers short. They are an excellent food source. My local T. radix population feed almost exclusively on Lumbricus terrestris- Canadian Nightcrawler. They grow fast big and strong here.

No, of course not! I intersperse them with my collection as well. Some of the granites wont eat them, pastels don't seem to favor them either. Now my albino checkereds tear them up. Haha. The concinnus like them also. The infernalis would be happy to just get nightcrawlers all the time.

Yes, cut up pinky parts small enough for the scrubs to swallow.

It's denoting how many of each sex came from a litter. Like 1.0 is 1 male. 5.3 is five males 3 females. If you ever see a third number those are unsexed.

So the people with those numbers breed them?

Well, not necessarily. It is a tool available to members called a signature. You too can list your collection by visiting the settings page and going to your signature setting and putting in what you like. You will have to scroll down on settings and click on edit signature.
