Slugs...

I caught a garter about two months back and could tell it was gravid already but was shocked because they snakes is under 20", ik snakes in cities are smaller but i'm still surprised to see one gravid so small.

Well she's still gravid, has shed twice in 2 months and i'm starting to think she's got slugs and can't pass them. She last shed just over a week ago.

How should I go about trying to get her to pass them and what's the likelihood this isn't a long pregnancy period but a case of retained slugs?

Best to leave things alone at this point. Just be sure to give her a moist hide to rest in.

Yeah, I think the moist hide and moist paper towel under the hide on one side of the enclosure. Keeping the other side dry. Also , on alternative days try allowing her to soak for about 20 to 30 mins.

Alright thanks guys, I generally give my snakes a soak once every week or two outside in a tub for UV exposure and exercise anyways, maybe I can give her two a week and add the moist hide.
