I believe I tagged a photo... But 29 T. radix... These are awesome! Born from a normal T. radix from Wakefield, Nebraska

Should give em some wet PTs to help with shedding. Still cute little scrubs for sure.

What was the paternal gene (father)? They look cute! Captive bred or wild caught? Oh! Welcome and glad to have you here.

Right after I took this photo I put them on moist paper towel with a piece of wood... These are from a wild caught female! Currently working on getting my license so I can sell them and keep them legally in Texas... All should be well!

Wow, that's great. I didn't know radix was native species to Texas. I guess the paternal gene was t.radix also?

The are native to a Northern strip in Texas... They are an endangered species in Texas. The T. radix I have are from Nebraska! And I could only assume it was T. radix! haha I have found red sided garters in the same area in Wakefield but I have never seen any hybrids...

Pretty sure there is zero leway in Texas with being able to sell T. radix, even with the non-game permit. We can only commercially breed T. marcianus, T. cryptosis and T. proximus with that permit.

https://tpwd.texas.gov/faq/huntwild/nongame_permits.phtml
https://tpwd.texas.gov/faq/huntwild/black_list.phtml
https://tpwd.texas.gov/faq/huntwild/white_list.phtml

Unless there is another permit I am not aware of. BTW we can collect and keep all Texas native thams (collecting requires hunting license for private land and reptile stamp on top of that for public land).

I know someone who breeds and sells radix in Texas they have permits to do so so im positive its a possibility he contacted his local officials who do the permits I'll have to get more info for you guys

Must be some special permit beyond the non-game then....interesting.

I know a guy who sells and breeds T. radix here in Texas also... He gets a nongame dealers permit... And tracks baby sales and turns in a report once a year... I'd have to prove mine are out of state... TPWD, I called today but the person I need to speak to is unavailable until the 31st.

Right, there exists a Nebaska albino t.radix that is here on the east coast. For N.Y. You would need only a certificate of authority from the State of N.Y. but in Penna. You need a aquaculture proprietors license as well. That is bc t.radix is not native to either of those states. I want to look into that Texas licensing.

The Nebraska albino t.radix is the "red" version but a very appealing animal. Along with a few other cbb individuals that are in the trade. Snows, orange albinos, axanthics, Christmas albinos, etc.

I sold a couple "High red" T. radix... Search Ianrambell or "High red T. radix" ... Unbelievable reds.. I collected some red ones when I went back to my home town in Nebraska in hope of producing some High red T. radix down the line. I've got a very bright red male with me right now and a low red female that is gravid, and a couple other low red juvis...

On a side note, how are things in San Antonio? I went to a couple of military nursing schools down there. I was stationed at Ft. Sam Houston. Spent a lot of time at Brooke Army Medical Center on post. We used to travel into Juarez, Mexico on leaves and short times off. But I really miss the "riverwalk" and the "Alamo".:)

I have lived in San Antonio for 7 years... Moved going into to 8th grade! My area is surrounded by protected areas of trees and has a man made pond... There are populations of Eastern black neck garter snakes and many other species of critters! I enjoy it here! I'm closer to "Hill country". Not much of a city feel, which is nice! Growing up in Nebraska all I had was nature! A best friend of mine is currently at Ft. Sam Houston... I've heard words about some populations of Horny toads coming back to these areas. That would be exciting!

Nice, sounds like a place I would rather be. Hoping to get out of N.Y.C. as soon as my wife finishes school. I wanted to relocate back to California but it's just so much negativity out there now. Horned toads are cool, I like fire bellies also.

Cool Jeff, do you have any more of those "high reds" available now? If so, can you post a pic of them?

I'm doing a nice high red pairing. I have a male with a red belly and red head and female with very high reds. The male came from Jason stoots a couple years ago and the female is also 100% het b&w axanthic. I'm also breeding the male to a orange albino

Tommy, is that male in the picture the one with the red belly? If so, can you take another picture of him at a different angle? Maybe a more frontal shot?

Ohhh so as long as I can prove they are from out of state and have the permit I could breed radix? What is their criteria for proof?

Criteria of proof is unknown at this point... I should figure that out the 31st and when I do I will post the information on here!
