Josh, you could try GIMP.
GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program (http://www.gimp.org/)

And Photophiltre is also said to be good.
PhotoFiltre Studio (http://www.photofiltre-studio.com/)

Succes...

Gimp is like photoshop- its a very powerful tool if you know how to use it. I've used it for graphical design in the past and gotten some good lookin stuff from it, it does take awhile to learn though.

Hi Josh: You could try the Kodak Easyshare site. You can do some simple stuff there, crop, enhance and store in other formats (like reduce the pixels by 50%), plus they do a really nice job on prints, they can do calendars and mugs and stuff too. Check out Kodakgallery.com*: Print, Store & Share Digital Photos—Order Kodak Prints, Photo Books, Cards & Gifts (http://www.kodakgallery.com/Welcome.jsp) disclaimer I used to work for Kodak. You can download their software for free. Good luck:D

Josh: I screwed up, you need to go to the Kodak - Digital Cameras, Camera Accessories, Printers, Ink & more (http://www.kodak.com) website to download the software. That is why I always worked on film .

I invested in Paint Shop Pro 7 a long time ago, still use it today. Never found a free program that could compete with it, even when you take the price into consideration. 95€, the price here of the latest PSP version, is not that bad.

Also bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0, which was a slightly less good investment.

I usually use Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.

Couldn't be bothered starting a new thread, but if anybody's interested in a free and simple 3D design tool, there's this one: SketchUp Home (http://www.sketchup.com/)

What do the rest of you think, do we need a separate thread where you can post useful programs, such as picture editors, 3D tools, etc.?

This thread would seem as good a place as anywhere, Stefan.:)
