How many lock ups does it take for a female to be pregnant. My male locked up with the female twice this month and they had a lock up in the month of January

I think when he stops showing interest you are set. When the female becomes gravid he should lose interest in trying. I'd just let them do their thing.

did you see a visual lockup as in penetration? Ive had males ride females for months and never actually penetrate for an actual lockup and ive also seen males ride a gravid female.
Ive witnessed these things due to a cummunial same species enclosure in which ive learned alot about how they act as how they are very active at night verse daytime.

If she's still putting out the right pheromones he'll react and want to mate. Once she stops he'll give it a rest.

Doesn't really matter if there is confirmed lock ups or not. If the female isn't ready to become gravid she won't. It's a 50/50 reciprocating input as to whether she goes to term. And several other factors play into reproduction actually occurring.
