Long-time reptile enthusiast and keeper. Used to have many more snakes and a variety of other herps, but have reduced my numbers in the last few years. Haven't kept garters since my kids were young and they were fun, as well as a great educational tool. Their attractiveness has drawn me in again, and i have pair of T.s.infernalis in the works. Just thought I'd share a picture of a local wild caught beauty, though the photos aren't the best and don't do it justice.

Welcome nearpass! I am in N.Y. also. Glad to hear you are close by and where you can see those wild garters. Nice also that you are jumping right to the top of the garter list with a infernalis pair. Enjoy, and we are looking forward to talking with you.

I'm also on the path to getting some Infernalis myself, i'm in Ontario myself and have been trying to find myself wildcaught garters like that also. I've come close but that one's really nice, cool find.
