This breeding was one of Steve's black and white radix bred to the recessive axanthic radix, correct? So likely not compatible genes, right? though the number is only 4, so not completely conclusive. Would be neat if there was some sort of compatibility with either the axanthic or anery gene to the black and white gene, even if it produced some type of intermediate...or should I say especially if it would produce a new intermediate phenotype.

Sorry for the late response just been so busy. You are correct on both. Thought they would be. I wonder how it would do with an albino?

i think if you bred the black and white to an albino and produced "snows" in the second generation you would have produced the first "true snow" in the garter snake world not these melanistic albino snows that i think you guys have now.

Nevermind I see Tommy has them, still would like to see pic of the female. Is she in another thread? i actually have every litter that b&w sired lol sadly out of the first 3 litters only 2 males were produced from one litter the others were all female. one female from the first litter is high red. just recently he sired and albino! got those too im really hoping this morph proves out. in spring he will be bred to a sibling and a snow

and a lil late but i just found out jeff benfer produced my blue/red axanthic back in 2013 so jeff if you would, can you please give me a genetic background on my axanthic please?
