So I've made no secret of the fact that I think halving the pinks for my garter is kinda gross. I am, however, hesitant to start offering whole pinks too soon--his little garter head is sooo....tiny....

When is a good time (size?) to start offering whole small pinks? I haven't weighed him recently, but I could do that today for a estimate of his size in grams.

It's kind of hard to make a visual size comparison for width, as I remain a terrifying god-monster in his eyes.

The rule I use is that if it looks too big, I cut it up. I have a 2 year old male with a very tiny head who I still cut up larger pinkies for, and a not quite year old female who can eat them whole (because she's gigantic for her age).

I say he's big enough for whole small pinks.

I offered him the tiniest (2g) pink I had. He snubbed it. :P

Fiiiiiiiiiine, be that way, Dart.

Sometimes if you puncture the brain and get those juices flowing they are more likely to take them or put some worm slime on the head.

Hmm. Maybe he missed the scent of uh...blood and gore from the halves? It's a thought...I have another tiny pinky. I'll try something different with that one.
