I knew you wouldn't even want me to say anything until I had pics
but first the story
my garters from Scott came pretty early
We'd wanted a pair of normal plains, a female anerythristic plains and a fulvus
the fulvus didn't happen, so I agreed to just take the three
when I opened the box there were two containes - one said "males" and had two snakes in is that looked like normal plains garters
and the other container had an anerythistic plains in it
so I shot off an email to Scott, saying no, no, no - the normals were supposed to be a pair
then I had a patient
when I checked my email again, Scott had written, saying "I sent you a replacement for the one you lost last year"
I'm going - wait a minute . . . he sent me an extra snake?
I'm diving over to the discarded containers (it's two hours later now) and whew!
there she was - all limp
I put her in some water and she just floated for a while
then I suddenly got worried that Id drowned her and I fished her out
when I set her down on some paper towel she immediately coiled and struck at me repeatedly - she was really pissed
her name is Spunky
the two males are Mimo and Memo, and the anery female is Momo
I still can't believe Scott gave me an extra snake
anyway - pics:

Very nice looking little snakes you got there Rhea. I really like the T.e.vagrans.....I've really been debating on getting a pair of them. They're not real colourful, but there's just something about them. Oh hey, I was interested in getting T.fulvus form Felze as well. Did he say why he didn't have any?

Thamnophis fulvus....the Mesoamerican highland gartersnake. It's from Central america....different looking, but not really colourful. Something different that I'd like to try out.

Usually there are some Oregon Redspots at Hambury, and ReptileKingdom has had a CaliRedsided or two already too. Hopefully this will be a good show and hopefully I'll be able to find something really different.

I had a fulvus on order with Scott and he was holding all these radix for me until the fulvus dropped
then he emailed me, saying, he didn't think the fulvus was gravid after all
so - there is still a chance, but not a great likelihood
the T. e. vagrans are not the most colourful snakes in the family and yet they are my absolute favourites
I think that's part of why I'm interested in the fulvus

Beautiful garters Rhea. I picked up two plains garters from Scott over a week ago. A normal plains as well as an axanthic plains. Both devoured pinky parts on their first feeding. Those radix can eat. :)
Your anerythristic is a beauty. I couldn't make up my mind between the axanthic or anerythristic plains. In the end, I went with the axanthic. Maybe next year I'll add an anerythristic.
