Man it's fast. I've been feeding mine about 1/2 of a Canadian Night Crawler every 4 days or so. Sunday afternoon I cut up a whole one and offered it to him and these are not small worms. He ate all of it. Had a nice fat belly. He was slow yesterday, but he is very active today and has been since his light came on this morning.

Worms and fish move through pretty fast. Pinkies take longer.

I'm going to try a pinkie mixed with worms again on the next feeding. He picked out only the worms last time.

Let him go hungry a feeding or two. A hungry garter is much less picky :D

Man, my little Checkered digests even pinks pretty fast. Expert poop producer, that one. Their metabolism seems soooo fast when compared to say, my kingsnake.

Garters are high revving machines.

I thought something was seriously wrong the first time my BP went weeks without going because I'm so used to the garter metabolism!

I cut up a frozen pinkie tonight, thawed it, and offered that as his only food. He's in the process of gobbling it up!

That's a great update. Thanks.

Another very successful cut pinky feeding tonight. So I'm good. A whole pinky seems like a pretty good meal for his size, but cut up seems like not much. But he has a fat belly so I'm happy.
