Hopefully they will be caught soon and the animals are ok.
For future ref. we have a media thread for this type of thing so don't be surprised if a mod. moves it. No big deal.

I can't understand how anyone could steal something from another person and not feel convicted about it. I don't hate anyone, but i can't stand a thief!

I hope this doesn't shut down the poor guys business. And a big thanks to whoever fixed the post title for me, but I see where I messed up now and well you might want to correct it again. So sorry but I think I got it right this time...
I linked to the wrong article! That's how I got so confused lol. I linked to an article about a Florida pet store robbery. Gosh I dunno what was in my Kool Aid when posted this! I messed it all up. I would be willing to bet these animals will show up at the Columbia repticon show next weekend! If not on one of the online forums for sale. I hope the guy had some kind of insurance to cover most of it.

I hope he had a microchip in at least the more expensive ones. Easy proof of ownership should a questionable animal be found.

Heard about this. The guy's business was new and he didn't have insurance set up yet, so all of it's a total loss for him.
According to the owner, a couple of the missing animals (some of the retics I believe?) are very rare and the only ones in the surrounding area, so if they show up for sale, there's a decent chance that they might catch the guys who did it.

And certainly if he bred those animals himself, they may retail for $12K, but it's not really that much of a loss. I know of many local ball python breeders that have produced a $16 thousand dollar snake (!), but won't ever be able to find a buyer of such; a trade for other inflated snakes is their best hope. Nonetheless, degenerate thieves don't exactly have the reputation that lends to the adequate and proper care of an animal; something that is of course paramount to a dollar loss.
