I agree, she looks gravid! I would keep her by her self until after the babies cause of the stress factor. I'm curious to see if she throws any flame looking babies.

thnx for the suggestion! ive been thinking she was gravid since i got her and shes been getting bigger and bigger.

cant see it being too long from now. im really excited.

do they give any signs sometimes they are getting uncomfortable and ready to pop? like i said penny has been in her water dish past two days, and she has never ever done that

thnx steve actually found this last night! so i wouldnt say she is having contractions but acting weird. i really hope i have great news soon. sorry im going to ask again, do your females act weird around birthing time? do they soak in the bowl alot? etc etc... just curious. ive really got my fingers crossed, if gravid maybe some babies will have some of her red/burnt orange color

Not sure what you mean by keeping the thread going. The thread will say in your profile even if it drops off the front page.

I think acting weird is just a female trait.:D Sorry, I couldn't resist.

My females wander and are very restless, soaking also.
I had a cool situation happen with one of my big girls(Speckle, R.I.P.) she wanted to be sitting on my arms while she gave birth. I'd move her off me arm and she'd come right back. It worked out well as I was able to catch the scrubs as they came out.

wow thats adorable, u made her feel safe. hmm you mentioned soaking... this looks promising. i kinda wish i waited before i put them in a larger tank. too late now tho. she is just keeping to herself, soaking and stretching out. FINGERS CROSSED EVERYONE!

I haven't seen it in many of my snakes but some females delivered shortly after a shed so the soaking could be a prelude to that.

I've never bred garters. I accidentally had a litter of Mojave Green's and seeing the little faces the next morning was one of the coolest experiences I've had. I've got my fingers crossed for yuh!
