I just received 4 similis babies from Bluesirtalis this week. Thought I'd share a couple pics of how I currently have them set up. It's a simple 5 gallon for now. I find baby garters do best in small tanks until they put on some size and get used to hunting down prey.
Using aged coco coir and peat mix, rock cave hide, plastic plant, petrified wood chunk, quartz crystal chunk, and the tray of a plastic flower pot as a dish. For lighting/heat I'm using the hood from a small exo terra tank. The bulb is extremely low wattage but it works good since my house stays around 78 this time of year while I'm gone during the day. The snakes seems to digest feeder fish within a days time.

Congrats of the scrubs from Shawn.
What is your temp range inside the enclosure(hot and cold temps)
Bedding looks very wet, maybe too wet.

It will dry out in a few days.....I've been doing this long enough that I don't use thermometers so I couldn't tell you exact temperatures (Maybe since 8 or 9 and I am 28 now) But it ranges around 80 during the day and around 72 at night.

Having a hot spot around 90° would make a nice gradient to optimize thermoregulation. Which will also aid in digestion and overall health.
Just my opinion.

Hey Patrick I'm glad you like them! Just make sure that bedding dries out pretty quick and also just keep an eye on it and make sure it don't get too dusty when dried out! I don't use ecoearth so I'm not sure how it will be dried out. If it starts to collect in their eye cavities or nostrils or you notice any of them sneezing you might have to change. Also keep an eye on hydration cause some beddings suck up moisture and can cause the snake to dehydrate or not shed properly. Not questioning your abilities at all just giving some pointers. I know you will give them a great home and thanks again!

Thanks for the replies guys! I'll be sure to watch the substrate. Mixing in peat with the eco earth seems to help with that dustiness situation. Also this is some pretty aged eco earth that has been sitting in my backyard in the elements for awhile. You get more of the dust problem with the fresh stuff.

Yes they did all take some of the guppies.
Here are some pics of feeding time with chopped up nightcrawlers. Decided to go easy on the guppies until more breed.

Excellent! All are feeding and growing. I need to get more pics and vids. The male is a little bit slower eater but I know this is normal. The pics really don't do their blue color justice.
