there are wild garters in Prospect Park
we just haven't seen them yet
and they're a bit shyer than their relatives in the non-urban wild

My sister and her (numerous) progeny lived in The Bronx for a few years.... They found Garters there and sent me photos!

we can, Spatz
but I suspect Sunday is the worst day of the week to spot any kind of wild animal in the park
because everybody and their dog is there
but yes, we'll go look sometime soon

Hey nice snakes I have a female eastern garter snake that gave birth to 38 babies last year and a lot of them are very red and orange. I will post some pictures some time soon.
