Heres 2 new pics of the male garter that people think is a T.radix? maybe these pics will help to confirm anything?

Thanks for looking guys and thanks for the kind words. It makes a nice change from most forums where people new to garters or for that matter any other snake get treated like idiots and get slated. Im really liking this forum.

Thanks again guys and girls:D

Wow, those cyrtopsis look great. :)

Sure looks like a radix, do you have any close-ups of the lateral stripe? Anything that makes scale counting easier.

I have every intention to mate but worried they will be a bit small this year?

As I said in your previous thread, Dean....certainly looks like radix to me, but darker than I'm used to seeing.

I saw a radix that dark in a store once, mistook it for a sirtalis at first. I think they sold it as an "Green River garter snake".

Hmmmm.....looks like the lateral stripe is in the 3rd and 4th scale rows. I'd have to stick with T.radix. Very nice eastern black necks....they're way high on my must get list!

I concur, definitely radix. I just got a pair today that are nearly as dark, shop was selling them as sirtalis but i noticed spotting and the bright dorsal stripe and they confirmed that they are indeed radix when i went to buy them. I also have a pair of black-necks, lovely snakes.

You can see on his site what subspecies he has and then you can ask what babies are available.
