I don't and have never owned any snakes as of yet, but I plan on buying/adopting one in the future. In the meantime it is so awesome to be joining the community to learn tips and tricks. I'm especially interested in garters (obviously), Cornsnakes, and ball pythons (as they are what I've been researching lately) but I would love to hear from all of you your different experiences or funny stories, and especially any recommendations!:D

Nice to have you with us. Of the 3 snakes you mentioned this forum sings the unsung praises of the garter snake. They are the best kept secret in the snake hobby.
I would suggest the care sheet first and then a search of the topics under the forum tab.

We as a forum have found some books on garter snakes to be in error on many areas of care. An example would be the number of books/websites that still, to this day talk about feeding crickets to garters.
Just be weary.;)
