I am finally able to take care of jade the way she deserves. I just moved to Philadelphia got her tank set up again , new substrate , lamp and her supplement even though I am available to more pinkys than I was before I just bought it just to have it. Hope everyone is doing well can't wait to enter the next contest !!!

https://micedirect.com/ Lately they have been having sales so watch for those before you order. Some sales are half price mice or free shipping on orders over $125.

Canadian night crawlers - Lumbricus terrestris are awesome food for garters.

Great I picked up 15 at Walmart for about 3$ . As for the mice I only have jade at moment so I don't want to buy too many and have them sitting there. I also dusted the nightscrawlers in fulkers calcium and vitamin powder. Is this the right one to buy ?

I use Amazon.com: Rep-Cal Reptile Calcium Powder with D3: Pet Supplies (http://www.amazon.com/Rep-Cal-Reptile-Calcium-Powder-D3/dp/B00061UWJM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1387819684&sr=8-1&keywords=rep+cal+calcium)

I saw that one at petsmart when I was buying her new substrate. I'll pick it up later today. I also wanted to change the substrate from aspen shavings to something more earthy I guess. Just something with a darker color. Any ideas on what I could buy ?

I like the carefresh and you can get that in a brown natural color. I prefer the white though because I can see the pee & poop better to get it out their home. I rotate food choices every 4th day, worms, pinkies, worms, tilapia, worms......dusting with Repashy Supervite once a week and a pro-biotic once a week also. I don't use a calcium since the diet is complete according to my Vet and breeder. This is just my 2 cents worth. I haven't been a snake keeper for long, but just thought I would give you what's working for me.

Sounds pretty solid for me. Never tried carefresh I'll go buy some and see how she likes it. Is it safe for feed on ?

Yes but it's still best to not let them ingest any substrate.
One complaint I've heard from care fresh users is the snakes burrow in it and don't get seen much.

Jade loves to do that already with the aspen just her last feeding was pretty difficult . Not because of lack of appetite just the aspen getting stuck on her food. I made sure none was digested though.

I've never had a problem with it when I do feed inside the cage, but prefer to feed outside, just in case. And my three LOVE to burrow, but they never stay hidden underneath, they're to curious as to whats happening on the other side of the glass and they prefer their cork bark. One can NEVER have to much cork bark, and it's easy to clean with hot water and a soft tooth brush. Just make sure you know which tooth brush is designated for this purpose.:D
