The hemostat gods have blessed me with an over abundant supply of these. They are great for feeding garters. If you would like a pair or two for free simply PM me your name and address and I'll get them out to you. Merry Christmas from the T.radix Ranch.

You are truly blessed. I'd love a god of scientific instruments to shower me with instruments.
I wouldn't ask you to post them internationally though, postage would outweigh the value of the haemostats.

I would like to take a moment to say this publicly.
Steve, you are one heck of a stand up kind of guy. Anyone who has the pleasure of coming into contact with you is extremely lucky, the whole world would be a far better place with more people like you in it.

Sorry Will and Chris. I had no idea rates had increased so much. Please accept my apology.

Michelle, Chris and Will your hemostats are one the way. I went to the post office today and found it was going to be much cheaper to ship. It was also easier today as the employees were not in the mood to do the international paperwork so they pushed them through as a letter.;)
It was a good day at the Post Office. That's the first time I've ever said that.:D

When you're feeding them with hemostats instead of say, putting their food on a dish, they learn to associate the hand (and hemostats of course) with food. Makes for very tame snakes that come right to your hand, especially if you don't mess with them other than to feed them. The popular thinking is that regular handling is what will make your snake tame but the opposite is true. My snakes are hand tame and come to my hand because I DON'T handle them or mess with them unless it's to feed them and then I feed them with my fingers or hemostats. Now they think hand = food = good thing, so go to it, instead of hand = bothering/molesting me = so run and hide. The result? see for yourself...

One thing I learned a while back the hard way.... When mailing to a foreign address such as Canada, unless it's just a flat paper envelope / regular letter, such as a case where you would put a few pairs of these in a padded envelope, you gotta pay much higher parcel rates for postage AND fill out a customs form and it has to go through customs. Half the time I go ahead and pay it and do that, it never makes it to the destination or it takes 4-8 weeks in transit.
If you can still spare them Steve, I could use 2 more pair or at least one. I want separate feeding untensils for my new kingsnakes and/or snakes in quarantine, and keep the other pairs I already have, just for my garters. I have to wash my hands as it is because if I've been touching a garter and then I get near the kings, they think my fingers are food and take a keen interest in them while licking their lips and drooling hungrily lol. And the mussies (clelia clelia) I'm keeping for another month or so..., well, they're venomous snake eaters that can smell another snake a mile away and they have a wicked feeding response so that can be a bit dangerous and or very painful lol... more hemostats won't go to waste around here that's for sure.

I thought I had figured out a way to get hemostats across the pond at a reasonable price and it did work for a while. Some of those envelopes were delivered but damaged. Some were returned to me damaged as the machine reading them can't handle the contents. I visited the post office yesterday and was informed that my way wasn't going to work and that I would have to send them out as a package and thus have to fill out the Custom's forms. This also tripled the cost. I hope many of my overseas friends got there hemostats.
This also means I can't use my cardboard mails to ship locally so it's back to bubble mailer for me.

Could have warned you about that one. Anything that isn't just a flat envelope with paper in it going overseas, you can't just slap a stamp in it and mail it. Live and learn.
I can't use my cardboard mails to ship locally so it's back to bubble mailer for me.
Anything with a rigid object in it that can't go through the sorting machines has to mail as a parcel, yes. These include padded envelopes. And mailing like that costs more because they are sorted by hand. If you can't take the envelope and spindle it around a pencil, then it can't go through a sorting machine. You have to send as a parcel (costs more in postage) so it won't be put through a sorting machine like a regular letter would be. It might have worked for you sometimes because depending on where it needs to be sorted, they may or may not even have sorting machines. Some places still do all the sorting by hand. When you mailed them to me, they got sorted by hand. You can always tell when they got sorted by hand. They arrive without those weird lines at the bottom, and the stamps are cancelled by a hand stamper. When you mailed mine, whoever sorted it by hand forgot to cancel the stamps, they were still good.

Today the hemostat god's were good to me.
Which means I will once again offer to forum members a pair of free hemostats.
All I need is your name and address and I'll get them out to you.(send a PM) I can only offer these to U.S. members due to the paperwork(Custom's Forms) and cost involved in shipping outside the country. SORRY.
