Snake Fungal Disease spreading

It's been spotted in SC copperheads now. Don't know if this link has been put up in another thread yet, but wanted to share it just in case. First case of Snake Fungal Disease verified in South Carolina (http://www.dnr.sc.gov/news/yr2013/oct10/oct10_snake.html)

I seen this on the news the other night! This is really bad and it seems like it is popping up all over! I'm glad to see officials getting involved to try and figure out more about this disease.

Just one of many cases of organisms taking advantage of new conditions, and others perishing for the same reason. That's just what happens when global climate changes. We are in the midst of a global mass extinction mind you. We might eventually lose entire phyla. That is what has happened in past mass extinctions. It's quite plausible that all reptiles and amphibians will be gone by the time it's over. If the trend in the oceans continues, they will probably be devoid of all vertebrates when all is said and done. Nothing left but cyanobacteria and jellyfish. Not literally, but you get the picture.
