Someone posted this guy on a corn snake forum thinking it was a corn... (which it doesn't even faintly resemble). I proposed thamnophis, but was unsure of the particular species as it does seem abberant. Any thoughts? It was found in Texas.

Storeria dekayi - brown snake would be my idea. Great little snakes.
Looks a little dehydrated.

Youre probably right. I still am stuck on how clear that dorsal stripe is though.... Dekay's seem to have mottled or loosely defined dorsal patterns...

I'm hoping Wayne (infernalis) will see this thread and comment. He knows his brown snakes.

I'm a recent storeria convert myself. Very cool snakes. Still not sure about that dorsal stripe though... I'll wait it out a bit!

It's certainly a Storeria. and yes they do have dorsal stripes. Ranging from very pale (difficult to see) to very profound white/grey.
They are great little snakes that are very tolerant of humans.
