Big momma had her babies today. I was sweating it. I had a long thread on here with concerns about her age and according to the previous owner she produced mostly slugs
Well I am pleased to say she had 21 babies and not a slug in the bunch. Also, Big Momma is doing well and ate 7 large pinkies tonight. :)

Any idea on price? Can I make a deposit to hold a pair for me over the winter?

PM me please. I'm seriously interested. I would just prefer that they get well started and get them in the spring. I can make a significant deposit and/or pay them off over the winter. Always wanted some of these and that litter looks fantastic!

Yes, today was the third offer. Chopped worm and chopped pinky.

I'm gonna try some Tilapia. I hate killing the worm and wasting it.

Guess you'll just have to eat it yourself then. Can't have it go to waste.:D

That's why I have Turtle. If no one else is hungry, she'll take it.

Yes, I'm sure she would. No chance of worms going to waste in this house though. I'm lucky just to keep my fingers after touching one.

Live guppies are great... flopping around all deliciously... I've been known to sneak a taste...

I'll have to pick me up some guppies at Wally World. They were unimpressed with the Tilapia.

MMM... slippery... (though with a surprising crunch!)
PS: If they don't have the little guys at the pet store, find a clean pond and just dip a butterfly net (Dollar Tree has them) in there. Those real little ones (usually gambusia, not guppies, technically) are awesome for the little runts... especially if they're all flopping around in a dedicated tub with only a 1/4" of water... but of course, not great for their only food supply as there can be pesticides etc.

The Truckee River in Reno was full of them. So many you could use your hands to take a scoop and catch several itty-bitty fishy's.

I'm getting real close to being comfortable with shipping them. I want to be sure they are eating good first.

Well of course! They are really just getting started though while shipping season is coming to a close very soon. I think I PM'd you already. What's it going to take to get a couple of these held and shipped to me in the spring? PM'd you an offer just now.

Getting a little pushy, are we!? What are you trying to drive up the price or something? Don't want this to end up like certain other sellers, who get unique morphs and then make you BLEED for them!
:-)

10-23-2013, 12:36 PM
LoL you're funny. but yeah I'm being pushy. Sometimes that's whatcha gotta do to get something worth having. ;)

I have no fear of that. He just isn't that kind of guy. His name isn't Sc... nevermind.
Don't worry, not going to offer more than fair market value but I am willing to pay in advance and wait till next spring to get them.

10-23-2013, 11:54 PM
I'll be more excited about it when I have them all eating good.
Some are eating but it is far from a feeding frenzy.
What is about the average age to sell and ship?
ConcinusMan
10-24-2013, 09:55 AM
Personally if they take food consistently a few times when offered, that's good enough. Usually at about a month old. I've heard that blackneck babies can be difficult. Also heard if you withhold water for a few days it helps.
EKS56
10-24-2013, 01:14 PM
I think that... I know that Blacknecks can have some VERY finicky eating habits. Did you get my message?
