how to upload a photo into gallery?

I have some really cute photos of both of my snakes and was wondering how to upload some photos of them into the gallery.

PITA isn't it? I never did like the gallery here and after the software upgrade it's even worse. I just use tinypic.com and copy the IMG code URL and paste it in my posts.
