We got a good rain yesterday and as I was hustling from the bus stop back to my apartment I counted 97 worms on the sidewalk. I'm sure there were more but I was moving quickly. I wanted to collect them and feed them to my garters, but the apartment manager puts down herbicide every spring, so they're going to dry out and die instead.

What a blessing to have good friends. I'm very capable working on engines and computers. When it comes to wood/drywall or anything that requires measuring and cutting my brain takes a nap.
I can cut a board 3 times and it will still be too short "ba-dum-TSH"
Today, a good friend came over and finished putting a shower back together for me. He made it look so easy. He had the tools and the talent.
Good friends are priceless.

I'm pretty much in the same boat, I'm not good with measuring and I'm not good with wood in general...at least when it comes to the finer points of wood. I'm work with metal much better.
My brother can take a pair of scissors and make the finest, straightest cut on a piece of paper. When he does, I just sit there and look amazed.

The funniest thing you won't see.
About a week ago I shot a video of Speckle being fed. I used an old camcorder that transfers through firewire (iEEE 1394) The only computer I have that can possibly do the job is old and in storage. In any event here's what happened.
As I approached Speckle's paddock my dog Lucy was right with me. She keeps and eye on the snakes while I feed and alerts me to anyone getting out. Lucky has some history with this paddock as she's been bitten on the nose by Speckle a few times. Speckle doesn't like Lucy and will go after her if she get too close. As I open the door(lower hinge) a gap is created at the bottom of the door. Lucy was getting in position to watch when I reminded her that Speckle was near. The gap was all Speckle needed and she was out in a shot and tagged Lucy right on the nose. This all happened in a matter of seconds. I barely had time to warn Lucy and it was over. Speckle retreated and enjoyed her food.
I had to laugh at poor Lucy and applaud Speckle for her resolve. She doesn't like Lucy and lets her know it.:D
I will see if I can get the video off and posted. I tried a iEEE to USB adapter but it didn't work.

I just caught my third Florida White Oak Rat Snake. I was about a mile from my mother's house, and he was just lying in the middle of the road. At first, I thought he was dead, but when I stopped to get a look at him, he was perfectly healthy. He was a good five-footer, too! I gently coaxed him into my butterfly net and let him go by the side of the road, where there were some trees and tall grass for him to enjoy.
I wish I had thought to get a picture of him, but the last time I took pics of one of these guys, you could barely see him, they blend in so well with the road top. But he was a pretty one.

So I thought those long nights up with sick children were over. My youngest being 12, they all do a great job of getting to bed and staying there.
Last night was a different story as my turtle Son Tank had a restless night. He didn't want to be in his water but then again he didn't want to be out of it. I'm guessing he had an upset belly and couldn't get comfortable. At 3am I was exhausted and wanted to sleep so I got forceful with Tank, forcing him to stay in his blanket in the hopes he would tire out and fall asleep.
Have you ever tried to force your will on a 23+ pound snapping turtle? Trust me, it doesn't work. What a powerful animal. During all this wrestling he never got angry at me. He finally settled back into his water and I went to bed at 5am. I went to bed and got up at 6:30am. Short night.

Wife: Great. Once you get that going, you can open my glow-in-the-dark minigolf business.
Me: Yeah ok. All these business books I'm reading say to try operating part time first before quitting your job.
Wife: That makes sense.
Me: I suppose the best way to start is by learning to breed my own stock. I should also buy some enclosures from different companies to see which I like best.

I was bragging in April how it was 80's here for most of the month when it's usually 60's but for the past month and in the immediate forecast it's quite cloudy, showers heavy at times and low 70's at the warmest. Feels like a mild spring, not summer. Somebody went and switched the April and June weather. I just hope the 4th of July isn't windy and 48 degrees like it was in 2011. We had to wear sweatshirts or coats for the fireworks for cryin' out loud. We just can't win. The 4th is always either unbearably hot or it pours rain and/or it's downright cold. Take your pick.

Ditch it would be my advice. Once you try firefox and see what add-on's , skins, etc they have and see how well it performs consistently, you'll wonder why you didn't do it years ago like the majority and myself did. I would uninstall IE completely if it, or components of it wasn't needed by the OS for certain things. For example, a manual windows update. ActiveX controls are slow, buggy and insecure. Firefox doesn't use activeX at all. Everything just works better.

Hi everyone...it's been a long time! I guess most of you read my post about Sammy's passing. Still very sad about that. All the other snakes are doing well. I finished my first clinical semester of nursing school...which was completely insane. Second semester is supposed to be the worst. I have to do two semesters in a row with no break this year...so I should be thoroughly ready for the nut hut when that is over. I have been so busy with my son...baseball season just ended and he was picked for the All Stars this year! That is a league made up of the best kids in the state...the teams are divided into county divisions and we play against each other and try to move into playing against teams from other states. I also got a job...I think. I was offered a very good job as a counselor at a psych hospital. It's the perfect job because it is master's level, so it pays great...and I can make my own schedule around nursing school. But now I can't get my supervisor to call me back to set up my schedule...so I am starting to wonder what is going on. Other than that, everything is good. I hope all of you are doing well...looking forward to catching up with all of you this summer!

The hell is the point of this big creek and 10 acres of woods near my house. I feel like I am literally the only living thing on the planet. Even the plants here are lifeless. Kind of like the 4 snakes I've found. As in, they were dead. 2 ring necks and 2 copperheads. Oh yeah, and a baby green snake. also dead. So that's 5 dead snakes. Not one live reptile or amphibian have I found in almost 2 years, save one or two toads and maybe a lizard.

Hit some yard sales yesterday and today. Nothing but bargains everywhere. Spent $3 on two, new in the box light fixtures that would have cost $100 anywhere else.
Started paperwork on refinancing my home. Dropped 2% points on interest, cut 6 years off the loan and got it all done for $1000. My house payment only went up $20 a month.
Going to save $56,000 in interest charges by shortening the loan.

My brother bought a house before the market collapse and now owes $80,000 more than it's worth. Yikes. Very interesting... No wonder rich people can be such pricks. I have an aunt who is that way. Feels entitled and is always offering advice on what to do about certain things while completely ignoring the fact that we can't afford to do those things. She has a hard time understanding that people who aren't loaded can't do that. our hands are tied. But do you think she would spare just a few hundred dollars to help out so we could? Oh hell no. that's out of the question. We never asked, but when we say that we can't afford it, she doesn't offer financial help either. Somehow she has it through her head that we just don't work hard enough and don't spend wisely and that's why we're poor. Fine attitude coming from someone who makes more in a day than we make working our butts off for a month, and spends more on a foot massage than we do on groceries.

Scored at another yard sale yesterday. Walked into the garage and saw a very new HP desktop computer and monitor(still being sold at retail stores). It came preloaded with Win 7 so I knew it wasn't that old. Picked it up for $20. Granted it's at the bottom of the line for the Pavilion series but it's up and running and appears stable. Going to wipe it out and start from scratch.
It will make a nice computer for my quarantine room.
Gotta love them yard sales.

$20 wouldn't buy a Windows 7 license (even if it can't be transferred to another machine). Nice buy.

.
I take it you have the license key sticker and restoration CD's?? Unfortunately, using those on an HP and "starting from scratch" usually means loading it up with a bunch of garbage pre-installed software which insists on loading at startup and hogging memory. Then I gotta go in and clean it up (which speeds it up and runs better) even if it's new. They come "pre-cluttered" lol.
In terms of time spent I'm better off installing from any Windows 7 disk/key, (version must be the same) do not activate, then change key to match the license on the PC and activate.

Just got my $20 new/used desktop computer all situated in the quarantine room. It has what I need and nothing more.
Running Firefox, Thunderbird(email program) and Skype.
I have $35 invested and they still sell new for $350. I would have to say the yard sale gods have been good to me.

I'm curious as to what healthy foods/meals others are making having.... whatever?
I recently found out I'm allergic to one of the proteins in cow milk... so there goes cheese from my diet. This really shakes up my diet/world alot more than I thought it would.
My dinner tonight is a orientalish soup. I stated on the stove with a few cups of water and a table spoon of miso paste -the red bean variety. and in my bowl I dropped 4 snap pea pods, a bit of enoki mushrooms, a few square inches of the fresh kelp, a slice of tofu and a table spoon or so of fresh carrot slivered... and a teaspoon of basil and chili paste (thai) and poured the very hot miso over it all, and tucked an ounce of bean threads (cellophane type) into the bowl to cook, and garnished everything with a sprig or two of water cress. It is satisfying, and fairly healthy, but I always welcome other ideas...
Later tonight I will mae soy milk, tofu and then patties with the okara that results. These are a fairly rich patty spiced with Korean style bar-b-que sauce, that I used to eat as an open faced sandwich with sour cream, tomato, thick sliced onion, swiss cheese and alfalfa sprouts all on a thick slab of whole wheat bread. yum. pity, both sour cream and swiss cheese are out now. :( (recipe for the soy/garden patty's available for any who wishes it)
So what are you're answers to healthy interesting meals? Or just any other food you think is worth mentioning/telling others about?
Kerensa.

I'm vegan, so I've been figuring out what dairy substitutes are good lol. Earth balance butter tastes pretty much like margarine. Tofutti cream cheese and sour cream are okay taste-wise (the cream cheese is actually better than the milk version IMO) but the texture is a little different. Veganese tastes like miracle whip. I like unflavored rice or almond milk too.
No really good cheese substitutes though... Like, if I'm making a dip, or mixing in with something (like mashed potato) Daiya brand cheese is okay. But if you're expecting it to taste like actual cheese it'll be a let-down.
I just made some really great 7-layer dip with the sour-cream and fake-cheese tonight, and my husband and his friend who are both meat-eaters liked it. lol, even if you don't like the organization, PETA's website does have some very good recipes for no-milk dishes too.

years ago I was completely baffled with stuff like the vegan baloney tofu bacon and other meat replacements meant to taste like meat. I was convinced if I wanted to eat something that tasted like a nitrate festival I knew where the deli counter was...
Now I can't have cows milk cheese I really do miss it, and want something that tastes exactly like my silton blue cheese, or swiss cheese... LOL.
I don't mind the sheep butter, other than the price. I found a goat milk cream cheese I do like, but its in 8oz packages only, and I eat maybe 2 oz a month of cream cheese... <sigh>
The places it hits me hardest is in cooking at home, I make a lot of Indian food, and used to make quite a bit of home made cheese etc. <sigh>
This really is a huge (unbelievably HUGE) adjustment. I'm the sort of crazy B- that made homemade cheese, brewed wine, beer etc, Having to depend on some company to make my food choices for me in dairy- well so far I've been leaning towards skip the dairy completely if I can't find it from a truly sustainable, healthy source.

Felt like an absolute idiot a few minutes ago. My daughter has an Olympus digital camera she doesn't need anymore so I asked if I could try it out in the snake room.
Tonight, I was trying to use the camera but could get the flash to work. The on-screen menu wouldn't let me into any of the flash options. Every time I took a picture the flash failed to work. I was baffled and perplexed.
I asked my daughter to come down to the snake room and help me out. I explained to her the flash wouldn't popup and work. She manually popped the flash up and took a number of photos with flash. I felt like a fool.
I think I'll stick to using my Canon EOS from now on.:D

Ugh, I can't stand the fake meats. They always taste disgusting, like they're trying too hard to be meat. Got a pack of fake bacon the other day just to see what it was like; It tastes exactly like the Beggin Strips I buy for my dog (come on, who hasn't tasted dog treats before? lol). I like tofu and stuff like that, but I think that's because it tastes like tofu instead of tofu-trying-to-be-beef.
Wow, I don't have the patience to cook/brew/make anything that takes more than about 20 minutes of effort. At least you're not allergic to all types of cheese :(

okay. I'm a freak. The fact I make my own tofu and veggie soy patties screams that... but a close look at butylated hydroxytoluene will have that effect on people: Most important hazards: Xn- Harmful. R 22 harmful if swallowed. R36/37/38 - irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin. S02 keep out of reach of children. S07 keep container tightly closed. S22 Do not breathe dust. S26 in case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with water and seek medical advice. s37/39 wear suitable gloves and eye/face protection. Potential uses: antioxidants, preservatives. BHT (Butylated hydroxytoluene) is a white solid of melting point 70C with mild characteristic odor. It is readily fat-soluble and sparingly water soluble and is used primarily an antioxidant additive, extending the shelf life of products with unsaturated (and especially polyunsaturated) fatty acid moieties. if you look for BHT in the grocery store, you'll have little trouble finding it...
That is just one of the refreshing little treats in food I've researched. At this point its amazing I'm even willing to eat anything.
I wouldn't have but a beggin strip in my mouth. But I wouldn't have put bacon, or fake bacon in my mouth either- So I'm just the wrong entity to seek understanding on that one from. Mind you I don't think the beggin strip was stranger than the bacon or the fake bacon. I can sort of understand if you wanted to know what you were feeding your dog... but....

i have never tasted beggin strips but i have tasted the ones that are a lot closer to real jerky. my chihuahua Hershey wouldn't eat any kind of dog treat for the longest time after we got him (he was about 4-5 years old) so we just didnt buy them until i started seeing the milos kitchen treats and decided i would give them a shot and he loved them. well i looked at the ingredients, smelled them, and from looking at the product itself, if i had to i would eat them, if starving or whatever they actually don't look or smell that bad.
i cant stand tofu there is a thai restaurant about an hour away and they have a sample patter thing and it has fried tofu and even fried it tastes like...uhm well **** lol. no matter what kind of flavor they add to tofu, soy patties, or veggie burgers and the like it never tastes right. i honestly think i would eat those milos kitchen dog treats before i ate tofu again lol
kerensa

no matter what kind of flavor they add to tofu, soy patties, or veggie burgers and the like it never tastes right.
That is exactly my point. If one does not like soy anything (tofu, milk, okara, setan) with the natural flavor, they shouldn't try eating it at all, because its just gross when you try to make it taste like meat, or likely anything else. I happen to like soy. I dislike most poultry. hate beef, and would likely starve before I tried to eat pork again. when I encountered soy meats, I classed them all as honorary pork.
So the next time some one tells you that you need to try (fill the blank) soy product because it tastes just like (fill in the blank) look them in the eye, thank them for the offer and decline on the basis that you do not like soy. No matter what they do to it, its still soy- you won't like it. No matter what you do to pork, I won't like it.
I won't ever try to convince people to eat something they have tried and do not like.

You press gently to focus and then it makes a sound, then you press down fully to take the pic. Do you make your own salad dressing? a good blue cheese dressing would be worth the effort of finding a blue goats milk cheese...
Most salad dressing recipes I've seen have not been very easy to translate into "real food" and by that I mean, directions like "one package of this mix and a half cup of miracle whip" do not shout "Kerensa will have this stuff on the pantry shelves"
I've been trying to figure out how to make a ranch with goats milk and such also. I used to buy from here :: Harriet's Original All Natural Salad Dressing :: (http://www.harriets-original.com/index.html)

no but ive been thinking about making my own italian dressing for some time now but never really thinking about it when online which is all the time. the blue cheese i like to use is a real thick and chunky so that when i add the little bit of italian to it, it thins it out to normal but mixes the 2 flavors. the best salad to use this mixed dressing on are the salads with pepperoni, green olives, either pepperoncini or banana pepper rings, and then whatever else you like in the salad. also im not the kind of person that worries about the food i eat, when i eat a good steak i eat fat and all with mushroom and onions, wings are always deep fried, but i do eat some healthy food especially when doing work outside eating granola bars or clif bars and water.

ummm. I'm probably the least judgmental of people when it comes to another diet. (and lots of other things) Provided you are not asking me to eat whatever you chose to eat, I won't give it a second thought. The only exception is if you decide to cook greasy 4 day old pork chops in my perfectly seasoned cast iron, at too high a temperature filling my house with the rancid smell of burning pork fat, then mve it to yet another perfectly seasoned cast iron pan... one house guest 24 years ago did that, and I've *never* forgotten.
I think I'm going to attack the dressing recipe. worst case I don't find a decent option.

On a different note. One of my boys walked today. When you consider that my garter snake boys don't have legs, that just leaves little Joseph (who is rapidly approaching his first birthday... How time flies).
Of course, he walked while his mother was out of the room and I didn't have a camera to hand. Then didn't for the half hour I had the video camera on my phone pointed at him. Then chose the moment that I'd switched from camera to post a photo on Facebook to say that he'd walked - to rub salt into the wound he walked straight towards me laughing, and sat down the instant I got the camera app running. Nearly as frustrating as trying to film a snake shedding.

I can't stand children screaming either...and I am a mom. Something about a screaming child that grates on my nerves like fingernails on a chalkboard. I was not like that with my son though...the sound of him screaming as a baby only made me want to calm him. It might be a natural instinct thing...like we are programmed like that so we don't eat our young...lol. But I also think that parents should know where they should and should not take young children and when to take a child out of a place...you should not let a screaming child bother other people in public. Just my opinion.

I'm finding the "crying because daddy is stopping you from doing things that you shouldn't be doing" is particularly annoying. The sort of "things" include - pulling the cat's fur out while he's sleeping, continuously chasing the cat, pulling on the curtains, turning the DVD player on and off to see the red light around the button change from red to green, banging on the top of the DVD player. Sometimes he just laughs when I tell him off, other times its time to bawl... Bodes well for the future.

No, this was a couple having a falling out. The dog, he got for her as a pup/gift and they both raised it as a couple. She threw all his stuff, including furniture, out on the lawn and broke the windows in the house. To get back at her I'm sure, he simply blew up her dog. wow. Cops were already on their way there for report of a domestic disturbance when the dog went boom. So, the "evidence" was quite fresh lying over here, and there, and over there. Needless to say with all the charges he's facing, even if he strikes a deal, he's going to prison. Even if they drop the animal cruelty charge he's getting locked up. He's been making explosive devices in his garage and they have the evidence. He'll be facing federal charges. 'nuff said.

Under normal circumstances I'm not usually walking around with a firearm but I've been known to kick some dog's teeth out or bash 'em with a rock. People need to keep their dogs under control plain and simple. Just the other day I had 2 of the prettiest, friendliest pit bulls following me down the street, with collars on. No owner anywhere in sight. I hold nobody but the owners responsible. Sad that dogs had to die, but it's the owners fault. Nobody elses.

how many times did the officer involved change what he says happened and there were a few people at the volunteer fire dept. that night that gave a statement and then i guess recanted and would not say anything because they was afraid of that officer.

I thought I was making an understatement when I called it agitated. It was barking its lungs out, jumped out of the car, came running towards the cops and the suspect and lunged at a cop who apparently tried to grab the collar.
People aren't exactly built to fight dogs and it would take a special kind of fool to start playing games with an unfamiliar dog that size and in that state of mind.

well when watching the video i could not hear the dog barking. something i have noticed with some dogs is that barking is not much of an indicator that its agitated or going to fight someone but growling is a better one. i dont know why i cant hear the dog barking i had in earbuds and the volume was max on the netbook and the dial on the buds.

We've had several cases of officers being badly hurt by dangerous dogs. When a big dog has a grip on an officer's arm battons aren't much use, and a Taser isn't an option. One case I've seen reported had officers being attacked by a pit bull (which had been intentionally set on them) for 20 minutes before an armed unit arrived. I bet the four officers on the scene first wished they'd been armed so they could have dispatched the dog sooner.

Because we don't have crazy arsed gun laws that allow anyone to carry a gun? Meaning that the chances of an officer being faced by someone with a gun is pretty low. Our officers are more at risk from stabbing, which is why their protective vests are stab vests rather than ballistic vests. There is no need for our police officers to be armed all the time, and the majority of our police officers don't want to be armed. The prison sentences here for carrying a gun in the commission of a crime are harsh enough to make most criminals think twice, and when you know a shopkeeper isn't going to pull a shotgun from under the counter the feel safe enough threatening them with a baseball bat.
There are of course odd occasions when a weapon would be useful, but it doesn't justify arming our police force.

It couldn't be done here. If we can't even keep a person from entering the countty illegally how are we going to stop criminals from bringing guns in too? I guess what I'm trying to say is, more gin restrictions only effect law abiding citizens. Disarm them and who does that leave holding guns?
My point is, what works there would not work here. We got Mexico next door. We have unsecure borders, We got the drugs, crime, organizations, etc. that have no problem getting armed or getting guns across the border. Oh yeah, there's that pesky constitution too.
Even if all that weren't true, our cops would at the very least, need to carry non-lethal weapons or something that can stop a damn dog. Unarmed police... are you kidding me? You might as well send pee wee herman in his pajamas, to go break up a bar fight.

Flare gun conversions? Homemade guns? No, never heard of them being a problem. Hunting is exactly big in the UK, it's a case of shooting birds with shotguns. Farmers often have shotguns for shooting vermin. Handguns are illegal except for target shooting, so anything legal is hard to conceal. Simply put, there is no need for 99.9% of the UK population to ever own a gun. Especially when you consider that using a gun to defend yourself will still land you in court on a murder change.
That might work just fine where you come from, but due to our history and bordering countries, flow of guns by criminal organizations, ridiculous crime rates, drug trafficking, etc. that would never fly here.
I agree. It works here because the genie isn't out of the bottle. Anyone who thinks that a ban on gun ownership would reverse the rate of gun crime in the US is blinkered, it might reduce some opportunistic crimes, but criminals aren't going to surrender their guns. The genie is well and truly out. Saying that, anyone in the NRA who says that rates of gun ownership in a country aren't directly linked to gun deaths is crazy, the relationship is easy to show, but it's interesting to see the anomalies (e.g. Switzerland) and see that gun crime is linked to the cultural attitude towards ownership of guns. In the UK gun crime is most prominent in sectors of the population that are most influenced by American gang culture (read... "teenagers in the UK that wish they'd been born in South central LA) for whom carrying a knife isn't a big enough status symbol.

But I can tell you, of all the political debates and hot topic polarizing issues and debates, neither side of the debate is seeing the big picture and they're both wrong. I highly recommend watching this entire series. 5 lectures so far. I promise you'll walk away with a completely different view of all the social problems that exist. None of the people debating these issues seem to understand the true cause of the problems. Watch these and it becomes crystal clear.

And none of the laws or any amount of fighting the problem directly addresses the root of the problem, and that is, why people traffic in, and use drugs in the first place. The problem would be rare to non-existent if those reasons didn't exist and they don't have to. Drug abuse, violence, poverty, homelessness, pollution, crime, resource depletion, corrupt govts, social unrest, war... all seemingly separate issues. They are not. They all have the same root causes. Watch the lectures and you'll understand.

To sit here and debate about gun control, war on drugs, how to deal with them, etc. is futile because both sides are completely distracted and detached from the real issue which is not guns or drugs or law enforcement failure. It's something completely different. Soemething hardly anyone talks about. When they do, they are ridiculed and not taken seriously. Those in politics effectively commit career suicide if they do threaten to change the status quo for the better. Either that, or they get assassinated as Kennedy did.

Saying that, anyone in the NRA who says that rates of gun ownership in a country aren't directly linked to gun deaths is crazy,
The number of gun deaths is irrelevant to the issue, it's the total number of deaths that matters. That's the number that matters, if it's reduced. If the gun fairy came and wished away all the guns in the world, gun deaths would of course plummet. Total deaths might not, because the reason people were shooting each other would remain and guns are easily replaced and methods of committing violent crimes are easily changed.
The link between violent crime and gun ownership is easy to show, a causal relationship isn't.

Fall must be on its way. Tank(24 pound,Chelydra serpentina - Common Snapping Turtle) is now sleeping at night under his bookcase and taking afternoon naps there. Right now he's lounging on his blankets in the living room. He's all stretched out without a care in the world. Kids and dogs walking by and a vacuum running don't concern him at all, he never flinches or appears worried by anything. Once into Winter held sleep for 24-36 hours at a time. Only getting up to use the bathroom, get a drink or eat. Otherwise he sleeps.

We just recently had a tornado hit our area a couple of months ago that did damage to homes near me. Today, we had seriously high winds and my entire backyard is flooded. When the tornado warning came in and they told us to seek cover, I sent my mother, son, and the dog into the basement. I stayed upstairs and refused to leave the snakes. I said, "If the tornado hits the house, I will throw all of the snakes in a pillow case and get down to the basement as fast as I can...but there is no way I am leaving my snakes!". The snakes seemed to sense what was going on too...I had to take Sadie out of her enclosure and hold her because she was freaked out.

Because it's not part of the "plan". Old people are supposed to die, young people are supposed live life, get stuff done and become old before something like that can happen. It's unexpected, there's no time to prepare and it goes against everything you think you know about how a life is supposed to progress. Everything about it is wrong. And some would say that it reminds you of your own mortality and that you could be next.

alright we need to change the direction here sooo, whats for dinner?
for me i used 2 8oz boxes of Zatarain's Jambalaya mix with smoked sausage, chicken breast, and some mixed sizes of fresh louisiana jumbo shrimp. i have been adding half an onion and some fresh diced bell peppers cooked with the sausage and then add some tony chachere's original creole seasoning. i also use an extra 1/2 cup of water because it usually runs out of water and the rice does not cook fully. i don't know if it changes the flavor a lot adding what i do, only because its been so long since i have not added anything, but its good and spicier (which we both like a lot)

Spam and Hot Dogs, YUM!!!
We had chicken on the bone (as my kids like to say) drumsticks...
Fresh beets from the garden and fresh broccoli from the garden
My other "kids" had the pinkies I had left over and my florida blue "Jesse" had fresh fish (dace minnow). He lucked out cause I cleaned the fish tank and the damn fish dies while I was cleaning it. It was too large , though he did give a valiant attempt at trying to swallow this thing whole. I had to fillet it for him. He is one happy snake... :)

Drivers? Is the software old? If it's old software you might have luck running it in compatibility mode (so Windows pretends to be W95 or XP). Does Windows detect the camera if you don't run the software that came with it? Assuming it's a USB camera it might be possible to use some different software.

this is the only place i could find anything and i grabbed the imageplus 2.0 with the 2E drivers which is the correct one from other sources. when i open the image plus2.0 and try to bring up the capture window and the light on top of the microscope turns on (to let me know its working) and about 5sec later i get a KS.SYS BSoD full physical memory dump. doing more research i was told to make sure ALL drivers all up to date. download a program called slim driver to check all devices for updates and several things came up and 3hrs later i try the microscope again, and im still getting the KS.SYS BSoD memory dump.

Craigslist has did it again. With 6 in the family and 5 in school the need for a printer is important. For the last couple years I've been using Samsung CLP-310 laser printers but they can't keep up with the demand. Having a network/WiFi printer would be nice so everyone could access it from their devices/computers. The problem with that has been the price. That was until I did a little cruising on Craigslist. I located a business class Brother MFC-9840CDW color laser printer with built-in WiFi. New they are still bringing 5-6 hundred dollars on Ebay.
The one I was looking at was working but approaching the need for a drum replacement. That is according to the page counter in the printer.
Making a long story short I bought it for $20, reset the drum counter and cleaned one toner cartridge(all cartridges are full)
Now I just need to figure out where to put this monster. I do know one thing, I'll be entering this thing in the Hernia Derby.:D
Let the printing begin.

So the drum wasn't actually dying, just the counter in the printer suggesting it needed to be replaced... I wonder if it will actually print double the number of pages that the manufacturer set as a replacement point...

jwolfe...I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. It is interesting that I was just dreaming last night about my best friend who died 8 years ago. I'm still messed up over it. I think one of the things that messed me up the most was the fact that we had an argument the night he died...he was upset and wanted to come over to my house, but I wouldn't let him because he was using heroin and I had told him a week before that I would help him if he wanted to get clean, but as long as he was using, I wasn't going to have anything to do with him. I told him he was going to end up killing himself, and I wouldn't sit by and watch. He begged me to come over one night and I told him no...I told him I would call him the next day...and I did, and his mom told me he had died the night before shortly after I had talked to him. So, I felt guilt on top of mourning his death. You probably feel upset about the fact that you had a falling out with your friend on top of grieving his death. You can't blame yourself for that...the fight happened between the two of you as fights do...him dying was unexpected. Wherever he is now...he knows you loved him, despite the falling out.

I might be able to help with that.
The stop error is most likely caused by a 3rd party program/driver running in kernel mode which failed to terminate and/or clear itself from that portion of memory. If a driver (in your case, a windows kernel file called KS.SYS) erroneously accesses a portion of memory that is being used by other software (or not specifically marked as accessible to drivers), Windows stops. Memory dump, BSOD, etc.
I (or anyone doing a diagnostic) needs a copy of/view what was written to the memory dump file (s). I'm willing to look at that and advise if U wish. PM me.

New York state was kind enough to put several lean to structures throughout the state forest. Just mere minutes up the road, I can see the forest from my house. 10,000 acres of heaven right there.
The grand kids love it, have to squeeze one more trip in soon, before it gets too chilly at night to stay outside.

@jwolfe....funny, because baseball is really the only sport I truly get into. All the other sports just seem like a bunch of people running around piling up on each other and trying to get a goal. I like baseball because it is very much a mental sport. I can watch basketball too...but I just don't get into it like baseball...and little league is my passion because watching my son play is so amazing. And thinking of Wayne's camping pics above...my son is having a camping b-day party in our backyard this year...I know, I know...not the same as real camping...but it is going to be fun...tents and smores and ghost stories! I will try to remember to take some pics and post them. Last year my son got to go to a birthday party on real camping grounds...his first real camping experience...someday I will have to take him camping.

Look into state parks, a lot more secluded but it requires hiking in. The harder the camp site is to access, the more secluded and natural it is, the better.
We carried 2 trips worth of supplies 3/4 of a mile in from the trail head and still encountered other hikers.

just got off the phone with someone from the DNR here in WV apparently they are changing laws regarding all wildlife where anyone in WV can only posses 4 garters/other native snakes. im not sure if its 4 of one type or 4 total of any species. and i cant even buy an eastern from out of state without an importation license and he said the way its setup its extremely difficult if not impossible to obtain. also it states that i can not breed or sell ANY snakes that are native. soon im going to call the main DNR office in the capital to try and get a few more answers about when these laws come into effect and if there are any different permits i could obtain that would allow me to breed and keep more than 4 and maybe sell. its not a big deal but they made the laws with the intent of "exotics" and "Dangerous" animals and people taking extremely large amounts of native non-game animals for pet trade. i guess im just a little mad that a few dumbasses just ruined something that has brought me the joy of garters and i just got started and am already at my limit i can have as pets
