Well I was at a friends and she told me about these snakes she had been seeing and didn't want around anymore. We recovered them today and I brought them home, I took a few pictures and they are VERY friendly... After they musked and pooped all over me and I was still just trying to say "Hello!" lol

I will most likely re-locate them to a place where wildlife is safe from people for the most part. They where found practically in the middle of town!

See if we can get some determination of sex on these...

#1 Cutey.. I think she's a girl and has a broken tail (missing the tip) and the only one to hide while being held.

And last but not least #3, and I had to post on a reply because of the amount of pictures allowed per post. Anywho!

and Boom... thats all I have for now.... They are staying the night and they will get a chance to eat some night-crawlers tomorrow after I get home at noon, then they will probably get re-located out to a nice big open space to roam and claim as home. I was wondering about keeping one as a companion for Suzi but I have no idea how well they would get along, being she is a red-sided and they are not.

Edit: They all also appear to have shed recently, not 1 of them has a sign of retained shed and then ventral scales are not connected as they would be in a retained shed... I have noticed in snakes with a retained shed if moved backwards over the hand slightly and slowly it feels smooth as if its 1 piece, with these this is not the case, they are rough when moving backwards and appear in good shape!

Well then.... Back to the camera... mean time... they all did accept night-crawlers and I believe they have been devouring slugs, poop is literally slug color and watery.

They where looking like this when I arrived home.

Sweet radixes.

I just found an opaque adult female T.radix in my back yard. She's having a little vent trouble but nothing too serious. I want to get a look at her after the shed so she'll be staying for awhile.

Thanks again for suggesting taking photos outside Steve! Here are some better pictures to scope out!

Radix #1

#3 Also is showing signs of a mouth infection or retained shed around the mouth, upper jaw on the left side is a little swollen or not completely shut

Man, I want to keep them all but I know I dont have the setup for it, although I did notice after feeding them they became more open to me and are now all staring at me basking!

This melts my heart! Its like they are saying we will never be apart....

Edit: look very close at the radix on top at the jaw you can see what im talking about somewhat... its hard to get a pic of it...

They are in shock that you're not trying to kill them. Probably the first kind human they've ever seen.

Funny you say that cause I talked to the female and told her I need a picture of your jaw so I can show steve and we can try and help you.... So she lifted her head up while the 2 presumed males chilled right behind her watching me like bouncers lol...

best shot I can get... for now...

Male, male, female.

If you're releasing them somewhere safe, could you give the one with the suspected mouth infection a quick treatment with Hibiclens? Wouldn't do any harm would it, and may be a little boost on the way to recovery.

I don't see anything to be concerned about.

from my phone... I did just change the setup a little bit for them and gave them a nice moss hide to play with, I figure I will let them stay for the weekend and then give them a meal and on their way

Yeah the heat pad is on Suzi for now, the Radix's are in the 20 on the left, Suzi and the Radix's have seen eachother through the glass and have interacted a little bit, she really wanted to get in there with them lol!

I have a nice 50w basking lamp on the Radix's they love that half log hide, They are very bold and much more active then Suzi then again Suzi is alone in her home. Could it be that since there are 3 of them it made them less stressed, hesitant, afraid, and more active?

If so Suzi def needs a roomy lol... and I have the viv for quarantine

Last update on the 3 amigos for today.... They all just had their fill of nightcrawlers and are now all basking enjoying the meal!

The girl was the most excited to get food... she didn't even mind being transferred to the feeding tank.

Then Stubs with his full belly
http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o774/foxrun402/temporary_zps67a61a2d.jpg (http://s1342.photobucket.com/user/foxrun402/media/temporary_zps67a61a2d.jpg.html)

keeping an eye on Stubs I fear that he may have impaction, he made a very weird noise almost like a bowel movement sound or a tummy growl when I moved him to eat. No idea why, but he also feels and looked somewhat full... But accepted worms, Maybe they will help pass any impaction, hopefully there isnt one!

And the other male the female is very attracted to:

Dont believe me? Look what they did after dinner!

Dang love birds.... freakin' awesome!

Hope you are all doing good, I know these Radix are ! :D

As of today all 3 of these Radix have been released into a wildlife management area where people do go, but are encouraged to leave the wildlife alone. (Lincoln Archery)

There are a number of different animals living here already, and I personally have found garter snakes there. I have a small video of them being set free into their new giant home. I will put that up here as soon as its available.

Not even joking when I say it was probably one of the hardest things I have done.

Video.
