Helo everybody, hope you all be ok.
I was wondering if there is something like a table of weight and size for garter snakes, its just a simple question but I think that it would be very usefull to avoid over feeding.
Thank you and see you later :).

I don't know of any as it's usually a visual thing too. Different species carry weight in differently in the same way the sexes do.
Sorry, I can't be more helpful.

Isn't the most effective way to tell if you're overfeeding is to see if the scales are showing skin inbetween them after the snake has digested its meal? Regurgitation is another sign (or rather a sign of the food being too big). If so then you just cut back on the portions right?
Given their high metabolisms though I've always had the impression it is fairly hard to overfeed a garter snake, especially when it is young and growing.

Scale spread on a non-feeding day and non-gravid snake would be a good sign that the snakes is probably overweight.
Older snakes can be much more inactive so over feeding can lead to problems.
