I was thinking about maybe getting a second garter in a couple months and upgrading my current setup, i was wondering if i plan on housing my two together should they be the same species? Since i have a checkered should i only house checkerds together? If I wanted to get a different species dose it really matter if i housed it with my current one? (I do plan on getting the same sex so no breeding happens) Thanks!

Good thread to read in-light of you getting more garters.

Short answer is, as long as they're the same sex and similar in size, you can house different species together. Except wandering garters, because they will cannibalize. But there's more to it than just that, so still go read the link Steve posted :)

My 2012 Eastern is skinnier than some of the worms my 2011 boys eat! I gotta up his feeding schedule a bit, see if I can get some growth on him. I'd like to get him out of his tub...
