Hey guys, I know that garters have a average life span of 10-15 years but that is just "average". How old is you're oldest snake? Mine is 6 months:cool:.

There was a thread like this recently. If I'm correct I think Richard had kept one of the oldest at 22 years. My oldest is a radix which is at least 3 years maybe as old as 6 (I've not had it from birth).

Abby is about 4 1/2 years old- I believe she was a yearling when I found her.
Cranky is, I believe, actually my oldest as he is unusually long for a male t. Butlerii. (20 inches, 16 is reported to be more common for males of this species.)
Id guess he was at *least* 4 or 5 years old when I found him, and he was an emaciated, infected mess when I found him coming out of brumation, but still feisty, and he responded quickly to first aid.
I've heard t. Butlerii only live five years, and that they can live up to 10, so no telling how long he'll be with me, but he seems happy in his retirement condo with his younger girlfriend Trax.

not sure how old my oldest is.... a concinnus, caught by an acquaintance as an adult, he had her for several years, and I have had her for 6 years now.
I had a wandering for 9 years that was caught as an adult by me years ago also.
