I have a western black neck garter and this is his second winter w me, last year he ate all through winter but this year he has gone off of feeding, I know it could be bc he's older but he's still active and noticeably losing weight, acts interested in whatever I offer but doesn't eat, just curious when I should start worrying

Have you done or had a fecal float done on him?

I usually say don't worry unless they are either acting strange or starting to lose weight. Since yours is losing weight, that's the time to start looking into things. How old is he?

I haven't done a fecal float on him he last ate on 10/16 and in the last month has passed nothin but urates, I don't know his age but I'm assuming its not much more than 2 bc this is the second winter I've had him and last year he ate the whole time and his growth rate has pretty much stopped and he isn't shedding nearly as foyer as when I got him, he's not super skinny or anything not as full feeling as he used to be

How about some photos, please.
I would still want to rule out parasites.
