I'm looking to get an LED strip that I can connect to my shelving system, above my albinos' tank. I need something that plugs in, and that I will be able to hook up to the shelving unit which is made of rought iron. I have no idea what I am doing. I have been looking on amazon and I see hard wire strips, strips that require transformers or something, battery powered strips, and strips that need to be screwed into wood. Can anyone help me find something that will work for what I need...that is affordable? Thanks.

Can they be zip tied to something?

I don't know...I really don't know much about the strips. Sure...I could figure a way to rig them up to the rought iron if the strip could work that way. I saw one that I liked but it said it came with screws and such and I was wondering how I would hook it on to the shelving I have.

*Just a random thought that popped into my head*

I don't know much about LED lighting, but maybe you could use Christmas lights (not the colorful ones), the kind that wrap around a Christmas tree? Or would those be too bright? You can creatively wrap it around your shelving unit in a way that maybe it isn't too bright for your albinos.

Here's a video of a bloke connecting some of these LEDBERG LED 3-piece light strip set - IKEA (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50192073/) to his display cabinet skip to the end for the installation (he rambles on a bit):D

Okay...and people think snake people are weird. Thanks for the video though...that was helpful. I think I will just get some of the lights like those and find a way to stick them to the shelf or tie them on, like Steve suggested.
