Would something like Lysol or Clorox type disinfecting wipes be ok to use on the enclosure/decorations, if the enclosure/decorations were rinsed well?

I would think so.

I think those contain chemicals in addition to bleach. I would be concerned about that.
1 to 10 Clorox mix dries and there are not other chemicals to worry about. 1 part Clorox to 10 parts water. It's also much cheaper then the wipes.

I just don't know what if any kind of residue those wipes could leave. With bleach it dries and is gone.
Just something to think about. They maybe perfectly safe to use but I thought I would bring up a possible problem.
In the same way if you use them to clean your hands and the cut up food for the snakes.
It doesn't take much to kill or injury these snakes.

Good point. I'll stick with regular diluted bleach.(It just seemed a little easier/lazier:p)

I agree with Steve. I often use the wipes to disinfect things that I have touched after touching the snakes...for example, if I touch a doorknob on my way to wash my hands...or to clean a table that I have had snake stuff sitting on. But I would not use them to clean a tank or hides...and if I use them on my hands, I wash my hands before touching a snake or working with food for the snakes.

Another thing you can use to clean tanks is vinegar. I was told about it by Richard, I believe. I dilute it with water...about half and half and put it in a spray bottle and clean the tanks with it. Then I go over the tank a second time with plain water...then dry the tank. I have never had a problem.

I just realized the ones I bought are called "Power and Free"(I had to get them anyways for the bathroom). It says "No bleach harshness." It uses Hydrogen Peroxide as a cleaning agent instead. I just looked up the full ingredients:

7170

I looked up Propoxypropanol, and it's apperantly an alcohol.

They sound better but would still like an opinion.....
